Xinmin Evening News (Reporter Zhu Yuan) Recently, the "Beautiful People-Shan Yangping Yue Opera Art Record New Book Conference and Signing Meeting" co-sponsored by the Commercial Press, Shanghai Yue Opera Theater and Shanghai Wanping Theater was held in Shanghai.
The creation lasted nearly three years, not only to comprehensively review Shan Yangping's 50-year Yue Opera artistic career, but also to deeply excavate and present Yue Opera, a traditional Chinese art.
The book is composed of 6 chapters, starting from the first acquaintance with Yue Opera at a young age and worshipping under Mr. Wang Wenjuan, through "Dream of Red Mansions", "Meng Lijun", "Stage Sisters", "Home", "Poppy Beauty" and many other representative works, stringing together Shan Yangping's 50 years of wonderful artistic life. Each chapter is based on the repertoire, and the characters and stories integrated in it are Shan Yangping's own experience and understanding, and this leads to how she shapes the characters and interprets the plot, from her understanding of the background of the whole play to her every gesture, which is the most authentic artistic expression. In addition, the appendix "Selected Scores for Singing Segments" includes 33 scores from 17 Yue Opera repertoire starring Shan Yangping, which was personally reviewed and approved by the famous Yue Opera composer Mr. Jin Liang.
Wu Wei, director of Shanghai Yue Opera Company, said frankly that "There Are Beauty" is not only a memory but also a prospect for Shan Yangping, and it is also an important part of the integrity and innovation of Yue Opera art. The book not only provides a reference for the public to know and understand Yue Opera, but also contributes to the inheritance and development of Yue Opera art.
At the event, Shan Yangping shared her experience in interpreting the image of Yue Opera beauties and interesting stories in her interpretation experience, talked about how to integrate personal thinking into the creation process of the new book, and exchanged her unique views on Yue Opera art with the audience, conveying the power of Yue Opera art to readers.
She said bluntly: "As one of the treasures of traditional Chinese opera art, Yue Opera has a profound historical heritage and unique artistic charm. I hope that through my interpretation and promotion of Yue Opera, more people can understand and love this art. Rong Guangrun, the former president of the Shanghai Theater Academy, also said from the perspective of inheritance that "Dream of Red Mansions" and "Meng Lijun" are Shan Yangping's inheritance of the essence of Wang (Wenjuan) school's interpretation, and the subsequent repertoire shows the growth and change of Shan Yangping's personal characteristics gradually formed on the road of Yue Opera.
