Samsung Electronics has once again proven its dominance in the global TV market, ranking at the forefront of the industry for an unprecedented 18 consecutive years.
Market research firm Omdia reports that Samsung's share of the global TV market reached 30 percent in 20231%, further cementing its position as an industry leader since 2006. Much of this success is attributed to the company's strategic focus on the high-end and large-screen TV categories, driven by its cutting-edge QLED and OLED models.
Since its launch in 2017, Samsung's QLED TV lineup, including the latest Neo QLED model, has sold more than 40 million units worldwide. In 2023 alone, the QLED series achieved sales of 8.31 million units.
Samsung has shown significant leadership in the high-end TV space, particularly in the $2,500 and 75-inch TV segments. In the TV market, which costs more than $2,500, Samsung has a staggering 60% of the global market share5%, while in the 75-inch TV market, Samsung at 339% of the sales share remained in the lead. In addition, thanks to the strong sales of the 98-inch model, Samsung TVs above 90 inches are also priced at 304% market share to maintain a leading position.
Building on its success in the ultra-large size and high-end TV markets, Samsung has also made significant progress in the OLED space. The company's OLED TV series sold a total of 1.01 million units worldwide in 2023, accounting for 227% market share. With the expansion of the OLED lineup in 2024, Samsung's market share in the OLED field is expected to increase by leaps and bounds in 2024.
