CCTV News reported that Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, stressed on February 17 that Taiwan belongs to Chinese territory, and the Xiajin Sea is a traditional fishing area for fishermen on both sides of the strait, and there is no so-called "prohibition and restriction of waters" by the Taiwan authorities.
In order to ensure the safety of the fishermen's lives, the Taiwan authorities should release the boats and the people and seriously deal with those responsible. The mainland has the right to take further action, and the Taiwan authorities should be held accountable for this.
The day after the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council issued a warning, the mainland coast guard took immediate action. Gan Yu, a spokesman for the Coast Guard, said on the 18th that the Fujian Coast Guard Bureau conducted law enforcement inspections in the Xiajin waters to ensure the order of the fishery and the safety of fishermen in the area.
The Coast Guard's actions have helped to strengthen de facto control over the waters of Kinmen and prevent mainland fishermen from being killed again by capsizing boats. The process of cross-strait reunification is actually a process in which the mainland continues to expand the scope of its actual control.
According to Singapore's "Lianhe Zaobao," citing an informed source, the incident in which a mainland fisherman was killed may break the tacit understanding between the two sides of the strait in the Xiajinhai waters, and the Taiwan authorities' follow-up handling of the incident will also affect the mainland's response, so there is a possibility of a conflict between the coast guards on both sides of the strait.
When examining the situation in the Taiwan Strait, we should see that the hostile attitude of the Taiwan authorities toward the mainland is related to its own stance of plotting to seek "independence" by seizing the island, and at the same time, it is directly related to the fact that the United States, as an external interference force, regards the island of Taiwan as the front line of land containment.
In the course of the evolution of the situation in the Taiwan Strait, the two sides colluded with each other and reached an agreement on the point of hostility against the mainland. The Taiwan authorities' rough treatment of mainland fishermen is part of their hostility to the mainland and their actions of creating confrontation between the two sides of the strait.
The death of the two mainland fishermen is of great importance, and the relevant personnel of the Taiwan Coast Guard must bear corresponding responsibility for this. If the Taiwan authorities fail to give an explanation for this, the mainland will need to take corresponding action to seek explanations for the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
In this process, the Fujian Coast Guard's launch of law enforcement patrols in the waters of Kinmen is an initial countermeasure. With the continuous building of the mainland's maritime military strength, the restrictions that used to restrict cross-strait reunification have been basically removed.
It is possible that the mainland will carry out regular military deployment in the waters around Kinmen. Kinmen, as the first stop adjacent to the two sides of the strait, is home to some Taiwan military personnel, and the Taiwan authorities need to pay a heavy enough price for their provocations during the Spring Festival.
From 1958 to 1978, Chinese mainland proclaimed to the world its firm belief in "one China" through the Kinmen artillery battle. During this period, the strategy adopted against Kinmen was to engage in military confrontation, but did not attempt to take it, so as to maintain close ties between the two sides of the strait and break the attempt of the ** forces to separate the two sides of the strait.
However, at that time, Chinese mainland did not have the ability to capture Kinmen and break through the defense lines of the US and Taiwanese forces and then land on the island of Taiwan. However, with the Chinese mainland carrying out a series of combat readiness operations, various types of landing equipment and land, sea, and air long-range strike firepower constantly improving, the time is ripe for cross-strait unified military action.
At present, the provocative acts of the Taiwan authorities in the waters off Kinmen during the Spring Festival are further intensifying the expectations of the mainland people for cross-strait reunification and contributing to the accumulation of potential energy for reunification.
The island of Taiwan has a population of 23 million, and if reunification is achieved, it will be a huge systematic project to resettle such a large population. Fujian Province has set up a demonstration zone for cross-strait integrated development, aiming to make overall arrangements for cross-strait reunification in the early stage.
At present, whether it is the promotion of the Jinmen-Xiamen integrated living circle, the planning of the Jinxia Bridge, or the mainland's coast guard launching regular inspections in the waters of Kinmen, they are actively promoting the formation of a unified Kinmen model between the two sides of the strait.
Kinmen, a treasure island close to the mainland, is a testing ground for us to explore the model of peaceful reunification between the two sides of the strait. In order to achieve peaceful reunification, the uprising of the defenders of Kinmen is an indispensable step.
To this end, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) needs to control the passage between Kinmen and the island of Taiwan through regular military operations and form a three-sided encirclement of Kinmen.
At present, the provocative behavior of the Taiwan authorities has further strengthened our determination to carry out a new round of combat readiness drills for the blockade of the island.
