New Year's Memory
Chinese New Year
Do you know the origin of the Spring Festival? Is 10,000 years recorded on the perpetual calendar?
In ancient times, the solar terms were very chaotic and had a great impact on life and farming. There was a young man named Wan Nian, who had the ambition to fix the seasons accurately.
He sat in the shade of a tree to enjoy the shade, and was inspired by the movement of the shadow of the tree, and designed an object to measure the shadow of the sun and the time of the day, called a sundial, which was used to measure the length of the day; He also got inspiration from the spring water dripping on the cliff and made a five-layer leaky pot to calculate the time.
Year after year, 10,000 years of discovery every 360 days, the four seasons are reincarnated, and the length of the days is repeated. Wannian took the sundial and the leaky pot to see the monarch Zu Yi and explained to him the truth of the movement of the sun and the moon.
Zu Yi ordered the construction of the Sun Moon Pavilion, and built the sundial platform and the leaky pot pavilion. He was appointed to preside over the measurement of the law of the sun and the moon, calculate the time of morning and sunset, and create a calendar for the benefit of the people of the world.
On one occasion, Zu Yi went to inspect the progress of the calendar. I saw a poem engraved on the stone wall: The sunrise and sunset are three hundred and six, and the cycle starts from the beginning. The grass and trees are divided into four times, and there are twelve rounds in a year. Knowing that the creation of the calendar had been completed, Zu Yi was overjoyed. Wan Nian pointed to the celestial phenomena and said to Zu Yi: "It is now the end of the twelfth month, the old year is over, and the new year is resumed, please ask the lord to set a festival." Zu Yi pondered for a moment and said: "Spring is the beginning of the year, so let's set it as the Spring Festival."
