People's Daily Online, Dubai, February 18 (Reporter Guan Kejiang, intern Teng Jinghan) The 2024 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup opened in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on the 15th, with a total of 16 teams from the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Spain and other countries participating.

At present, the teams are divided into four groups for the group stage, and the knockout round will start on February 22, the semi-finals will be held on the 24th, and the champions and runners-up will be determined on the 25th. As of the 18th, Iran, Italy, Tahiti and the United Arab Emirates have won the knockout stage tickets in advance, while Argentina, Egypt, Spain and the United States have missed the next stage of the competition.

Since 2005, FIFA has hosted 11 Beach Soccer World Cup competitions. The UAE has hosted the World Cup twice and participated in it eight times. The tournament was supposed to take place in November last year, but was postponed to February this year.
