Munich, Germany, February 18 (Xinhua) -- On February 17, local time, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and head of the Communist Party of China, met with German Foreign Minister Baerbock on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

Wang Yi said that there is no fundamental conflict of interest between China and Germany, and common interests have been consolidated and expanded. In the face of the changes and chaos in the world today, China and Germany, as two major countries and an important engine of global economic growth, should maintain exchanges, enhance understanding, consolidate mutual trust, promote the development of China-Germany relations along the right track, and make Sino-German contributions to maintaining peace, stability, development and prosperity. This is not only in the interests of both countries, but will also bring benefits to China and Europe and the world.

Wang Yi said that in the past year, exchanges between China and Germany at all levels have been fully restored, cooperation mechanisms have been activated one after another, especially a new round of first-class consultations has been successfully held, and new achievements have been made in cooperation in various fields. China is ready to work with Germany to eliminate interference, forge more consensus, and understand and support each other on issues concerning their core interests.
