What do you think of the ace majors in colleges and universities? Don t generalize!

Mondo Social Updated on 2024-02-19

In this article, let's talk with friends, friends have asked a lot of questions recently: What are the ace majors, advantageous majors, and characteristic majors of a certain university? As candidates and parents, how should we view the so-called advantageous majors?

First of all, I personally want to say that this involves the choice of a college and major, that is, the question of whether the college or major is preferred or that my friends talk about a lot.

This question has been a long time, but in the past 2023, it has been particularly prominent: choose a school or a major? More parents and candidates have chosen to pay more attention to professionalism!

In this case, it is not surprising that many 985 colleges and universities appear on the list of soliciting volunteers and even soliciting volunteers for the second time.

Before volunteering, if someone told you that a group of 985 schools, even colleges and universities like Qingbei, would appear in the list of volunteers in some provinces because of unsatisfactory enrollment majors, would you believe it?!

However, today, in 2024, we know that this kind of thing is an objective fact that has really happened!

What Lao Ma wants to say is that it is reasonable to pay more attention to majors, but it is still necessary to consider comprehensively the type of college you want to fill in, your own score (rank), and future career planning.

Remember: don't overdo it!

Below, Lao Ma combines the colleges and majors included in each batch of types, and makes more specific plans with friends.

1. Undergraduate approval in advance

We know that colleges and universities that approve undergraduate enrollment in advance actually have some special factors in them, otherwise they would not have deliberately placed them in early approval.

So, for example, there are several special types of military academies, public security academies, state-funded normal students, free medical students, and free agricultural students, and we need to worry about the school you want to apply for, what are its advantages or characteristic majors?

Personally, in my opinion, it is completely unnecessary.

Taking military academies as an example, perhaps what we need to know more is that the military (soldier) to which this military school belongs, and what you are applying for is command, non-command, or command and technology integration.

Because these things will determine your future development direction: whether you will go to the company after graduating from the bachelor's degree or continue to graduate school; If you go down to the company, what kind of military branch is it?

Another example is the state-funded normal students; What you need to know more is the difference between the work location of the National Excellent Teacher Program and the national publicly-funded normal students when they graduate: graduates of the National Excellent Teacher Program must return to the education system of the county where the post is established, while the state-funded normal students only need to return to the education system of the province where their household registration is located, and the choice is much greater.

Another example is a few special colleges, such as Beijing Electronic Science and Technology Institute and China Fire and Rescue College, most of their graduates work in the system after graduation.

2. Ordinary undergraduate batch

In the ordinary undergraduate batch, why Lao Ma will emphasize that in terms of choosing a major in colleges and universities, it is necessary to combine their own specific conditions in order to make a more reasonable and cost-effective choice.

We know that higher education in our country has entered an era of universalization. For a considerable number of undergraduate graduates, the first choice after graduation is to further their studies.

Then, if you prefer to go on to higher education or work in the system in the future, between the disadvantaged majors of 985 colleges and universities and the ace majors of the four non-universities, my personal advice should be to choose the former, not the latter.

Colleges and universities with titles have too many advantages in terms of admission rate, research rate, public entrance examination and other aspects.

Not to mention, the discrimination of the first degree is a real thing, although on the surface, almost no one admits it.

However, if your family's economic situation is average, and you prefer employment after graduation, then it is very wise and reasonable to choose a college ace major or advantageous major.

The reason is that if the relevant majors of a certain university are well-known in the industry, then when the school recruits, it is too cheap.

If your grades are just past the second line (undergraduate line), and you especially want to go to an undergraduate college, in this case, you should not consider the school's ace major, characteristic major: no matter what major, advanced school, it is really not good, and then consider changing majors, it is wise!

Let's say a little more: it is relatively easy to change majors in private colleges and universities (except for a very small number of medical colleges).

3. Higher vocational and higher education approval

When your grades can only be selected in the batch of higher vocational colleges, don't be too superstitious about the so-called ace majors, characteristic majors, double-high plans, etc.

Personally, I always believe that in the batch of higher vocational colleges, we should first base ourselves on employment.

Then, in terms of the choice of colleges and majors, choose the kind of industry colleges and universities with certain monopoly characteristics, as well as related majors closely related to the industry.

For example, if you choose a higher vocational college in electric power, then in terms of major selection, you only need to choose a major that is closely related to "electricity";

Suppose you choose a certain water conservancy university, the same reason is to choose a major that is closely related to "water".

In layman's terms, we should try our best to choose majors with certain industry barriers, rather than some "panacea" majors that sound lofty and have a wide range of employment.

Personal opinion, for reference only, rationality is welcome, don't spray if you don't like it.
