Author One Thought Walker I. Emptiness is not a thing.
To this day, some people do not understand the existence of such an obvious phenomenon as "emptiness" and find it extremely mysterious.
What is emptiness? To be able to give birth to ten thousand dharmas, it must be very mysterious and magical, so people project on it all the imagination of magical and mysterious things that people can think of, and create their imaginary body of emptiness -- people regard "emptiness" as a thing.
This is not a correct understanding of emptiness, emptiness is not a thing, and it cannot be regarded as a "thing".
Emptiness: is a description of the essence of a thing's existence, not a thing. It cannot be said that emptiness gives birth to ten thousand dharmas, it cannot be said that emptiness is capable of giving birth to ten thousand dharmas.
Emptiness and all dharmas are not born or unborn, because of the existence of emptiness, all dharmas are unborn, and their thoughts are constantly changing.
2. Emptiness and awareness.
Because of the ignorance of emptiness, people often confuse it with other things, and often compare it with unrelated things. For example, there are people who can't figure out the relationship between emptiness and awareness. So, what is the relationship between awareness and emptiness?
First of all, consciousness is a kind of mind and mind of sentient beings, and emptiness is not a thing, and emptiness and awareness cannot be compared like things and things. Secondly, awareness is also emptiness, and awareness also has the essence of emptiness. Emptiness pervades everything, while consciousness is not pervasive, e.g. there is no awareness of unforgiving things.
3. Emptiness and selflessness – man has no self, Dharma has no self.
Some people say that I have realized emptiness, but I don't know how to protect it.
What kind of emptiness have you attained?
First of all, emptiness is not a thing, something that you don't protect;
Secondly, emptiness is an immortal truth, and you don't have to protect it.
If you have attained emptiness, then everything will rest and everything will be fine.
The phenomenon of emptiness is selflessness in human beings.
If it is in the Fa, it means that the Fa has no self.
Since there is no self, who will protect it? Since there is no self in the Fa, what is there to protect? If there is a double law of man and law, and everything can be destroyed, what else is there and what is pretentious?
What you have to protect is not emptiness, but when you realize emptiness, you find that there is nothing to protect. There is neither one who can protect nor one who can protect, and this is the real rest.
If you have something to protect, it's not emptiness, but be careful not to be deceived by illusions. If there is protection, it is to protect the mind from being defiled, and to protect from taking empty things as real.
4. Emptiness and other Buddhist concepts.
If we have a correct understanding of the phenomenon of emptiness, we will be able to understand such concepts as "non-existence", "emptiness of all dharmas", "non-birth and imperishability", and so on.
From a conceptual point of view, emptiness is synonymous with non-birth, non-birth and imperishability, nirvana, silence, bliss, first meaning, etc.
If you can know emptiness, you can know non-existence; If you can know that there is no life, you can know that you are not born and do not die; If you can know that you are not born and do not die, you can know Nirvana; If you can know Nirvana, you can know the true silence; If you can know the true silence, then you will have true happiness - life and death have been extinguished, and silence has been extinguished, and silence has become happiness......
Being able to prove emptiness is the first meaning of nominal knowledge; To be able to prove emptiness is to attain nirvana; To be able to prove emptiness is to reach the Elysium; To be able to prove emptiness is to be known as the ...... of immeasurable longevity
In short, emptiness is an important concept from a conceptual point of view; From a phenomenological point of view, emptiness is a universal phenomenon.
Emptiness is not a theory, it is a fact. If emptiness can be understood, the essence of the Dharma will be understood, and the immeasurable words of the Buddha will only explain it!
