The Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism recently held a discussion with a delegation from Macao on the integration and revitalization of culture and tourism in Fuzhou, to exchange views on deepening cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation between Fujian and Macao, and working together to build a world-renowned tourist destination. This is the first Macao cultural and tourism delegation to visit Fujian since the Fourth Plenary of the Fujian-Macao Co-operation Conference in 2023.

The Director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Leong Wai Man, said that in recent years, the bilateral exchange and cooperation mechanism between Fujian and Macao in culture and tourism has been continuously improved, and the intangible cultural heritage exhibition and performance "Starting Point of the Maritime Silk Road, Refreshing Fujian" jointly organized by the two sides before the Spring Festival has been welcomed and praised by Macao people and tourists. The visit mainly focused on the integrated development of culture and tourism in Fujian, and took this opportunity to find new points of convergence to jointly promote cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation between Fujian and Macao to a new level.

Lin Xiangdong, director of the Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, introduced that Fujian is making every effort to build a world-renowned tourist destination that "often comes, often thinks, and always comes to new", implements the "11537" cultural tourism development ideas and layout, and makes the cultural tourism economy bigger, stronger and better. The Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region have signed the Agreement on Expanding Cultural Exchanges and Cooperation between Fujian and Macao for two consecutive years.
