Bilz thread cutting quick-change chuck WFSL

These thread cutting chucks are used to cut large threads in engines, turbines, and reactor structures on mechanical or CNC machines. By inserting the quick-change blade into the quick-change device in the chuck, the quick-change blade locks automatically. Length compensation of pressure and tension as well as an adjustable safety clutch ensure that threads are cut to tolerance, even under the most difficult operating conditions.

Thanks to the interchangeable fixed axes, the thread cutting chuck can be adapted to the specific requirements of the machine. In addition to thread cutting with single-edged taps, the system also allows cutting with fixed taps.

However, when cutting with fixed taps, it is not possible to insert the finish mill precisely into the pre-cut threads. When using a WFSL chuck, a finish mill with inserts is screwed into the pre-cut thread by hand, automatically connected by quickly moving the chuck onto the insert, and then the thread cut is completed. Thread cutting chucks and inserts can also be equipped with coolant feedthroughs.

Fields of application. Application: Cutting large internal threads in machines, engines, turbines, and reactor structures.

Machine type: machining center, gantry milling machine, boring machine, special machine tool.

Features. Blade quick-change mechanism.

The safety clutch is adjustable in the chuck.

Modular axis system.

Adjustable length compensation for pressure and tension.

Ball guide bushings allow for smooth length compensation under load.

Automatic attachment of blades (fixed taps).

Merit. Quick tool change - reduce machine downtime and increase productivity.

No inserts with safety clutches are required – reducing system costs.

Flexibility to adapt to different machine systems by changing tool holders – less tools in stock and lower costs.

Adaptable to processing situations – with a high degree of flexibility.

Compensates for the difference in pitch between feed and tap - cuts tolerable threads even under the most difficult conditions.

Smooth length compensation even at high torques – even in the most difficult conditions, threads can be cut to tolerance.

The stationary tap can be opened manually and then automatically coupled when the chuck is moved onto the blade – the stationary tap can be used for ease of use.
