So far, the Americans have not found an effective solution to the Red Sea crisis, and the best they can think of now is to urge China to help them reconcile the Red Sea conflict and get the Houthis to spare the merchant ships bound for Israel. For the past three months, Americans have mentioned China almost every day after mentioning the situation in the Red Sea. It's just that with regard to the actions of the Americans, our country has only one statement: it has not been read back.
From a certain point of view, it is true that our country is actively intervening in the situation in the Red Sea and trying to restore normal traffic in the region, but what our country is doing and what the Americans are thinking about is not the same thing from any point of view.
What the Americans want China to do is to directly violate Yemen's national sovereignty, and they want China to either assist the United States by forcing Yemen to lift restrictions on the Red Sea through military deterrence, or by using political or economic influence to force them to let go. Or directly pressure Iran to demand that Yemen end its blockade of the Red Sea. Anyway, what the Americans want China to do is to take the initiative to trample on the sovereignty of other countries and violate the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, just like them.
The Chinese side will definitely not do this, the Chinese side is to contact most of the third world countries that are closely related to the interests of the Red Sea and the developed countries that have not participated in the current round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, to explain to Yemen the importance of the Red Sea shipping lanes to their national economic development, and at the same time to assure Yemen that it will not participate in this conflict, hoping that Yemen can only attack military targets and specific civilian targets that may help in the war during the blockade. Spare the vast majority of civilian ships around the world that have nothing to do with this war. Ensure that the risk of conflict spillovers is minimized.
In order to reass Yemen's mouth, China has held several rounds of negotiations with Egypt, Tunisia, the Arab League Secretariat and other countries or organizations, and in the end, although it is not known whether there is any Chinese effort in the middle, at least for now Yemen has made a commitment. That is, Yemen previously stated that as long as the destination of the ship is registered and it promises not to participate in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Yemen will allow ships passing through the Red Sea.
At least so far, China's diplomacy has achieved a relatively positive phased result. China is also willing to actively abide by the bottom line set by the Yemeni side, and when our ships pass through the Red Sea, they will report to Yemen and promise not to participate in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Do not transport arms and other materials to the warring parties.
So far, our ships, and even the vast majority of the world's merchant ships, have been able to pass through the Red Sea safely, and it has little to do with China, mainly because we are willing to maintain world peace and abide by the rules set by the Yemeni side.
Of course, the Americans are very dissatisfied with this phased result. They hope that China will intervene in the hope that China can ask Yemen to liberalize the Red Sea control and transport equipment and war materials to Israel through the Red Sea, rather than simply loosening the navigation control of ordinary civilian ships.
This is the biggest difference between China and the United States in handling international relations. China has always hoped to pursue a "greatest common divisor" among countries, and each country has its own national interests, and there will certainly be conflicts between national interests. Therefore, China's choice is to make concessions, as long as everyone makes concessions to each other and gives up a piece of the world, then countries can still become good friends with each other. For example, for countries in the Middle East, Palestine is the core issue and a matter of human conscience, so we firmly support the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights and support the long-cherished aspiration of Palestine to establish an independent state.
But in the same way, a just cause cannot be at the expense of the interests of other innocent people, so China is willing to reconcile between all parties and find a bottom line that is mutually acceptable and acceptable.
The United States, on the other hand, pursues an America First. Whenever and wherever it violates the interests of the United States, the Americans will use force to attack that country. For example, this Red Sea incident, how many times have the Americans bombed Yemen.
The American approach does not always succeed, and it is even better to use only force to deterrence, which will inevitably lead to defeat in the end. Mohammed Ali Houthi, chairman of the Houthi "Supreme Revolutionary Council", responded on social platforms on the 23rd, saying, "Your blows will only make the Yemeni people stronger." This is the result of the constant attacks on the Houthis by the Americans.
The Middle East can be said to be very lively now, with Iran hijacking American oil tankers in the Strait of Oman, Houthi blocking American shipping lanes in the Red Sea, Iraq attacking US bases, and Lebanon and Syria attacking northern Israel.
The layout of the United States in the Middle East is only a thin line away from collapse, and this is the final result of hegemony.
The hegemony will eventually disintegrate one day. Only by seeking common ground while reserving differences can we achieve long-term peace and stability in the country. It's a pity that Americans don't understand this until now.
