According to public reports, Yan Ning was born in Shandong in November 1977, graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor's degree in 2000, a doctorate from Princeton University in 2004, and engaged in postdoctoral research in the Department of Molecular Biology of Princeton University from 2005 to 2007.
In 2007, at the age of 30, Yan Ning was appointed as a professor and doctoral supervisor of Tsinghua University, becoming the "youngest professor at Tsinghua University". After teaching at Tsinghua University for ten years, her scientific research achievements have been selected as one of the top ten advances of the year by Science twice, and she has also been selected as a "Star of Chinese Science" by Nature magazine for her outstanding contributions to protein structure.
