The project is located on the site of Hallen near Avonmouth to build a new headquarters. After careful preparation, the prefabricated structure was installed in five days. A building made up of interconnected container modules, the building presents a striking façade with a good use of color to emphasize the brand.
The structure had high requirements for thermal insulation, so we used new rock wool panels and fibreboards to provide passive cooling and insulation for the ceilings and walls. The space around the courtyard with a body of water, as well as other openings such as windows, are arranged so that the building is not affected by extreme weather conditions. Exposed service lines are carefully arranged to drain rainwater and avoid rust on the exterior surface. We believe that "less is more", so we use materials sparingly.
The process of architecture is the transformation and intervention of nature, and ultimately the coordination of different forces, materials and energies.
The stacking of containers as experimental prefabricated building elements challenges the widespread waste of old materials and traditional construction techniques. The large span flexible space between the container units is mainly used for office work, and can also be set up with a variety of functions indoors.
