According to the survey at the beginning of 2024, Guangdong's ecological chain for the development of new quality productivity is taking shape, the competitiveness of related industrial chains is obvious, and key industries are leading in the country. The report also pointed out that Guangdong still needs to make up for its shortcomings, strengths and weaknesses in some new quality productivity tracks. At present, Guangdong's high-tech empowerment manufacturing industry is still insufficient, the overall level of new quality productivity needs to be improved, precision equipment, basic materials, industrial software and other fields are heavily dependent on imports, key core technologies are "controlled by others", the number and market value of listed companies on the Science and Technology Innovation Board need to catch up, the total number of unicorn enterprises and Beijing and Shanghai are far behind, and the ability to realize science and technology needs to be further improved.
