30 years ago, in the inaugural issue of "Hangzhou ** Afternoon Edition", a report with pictures entitled "Uncle, I Want to Read" caused a strong response among readers, which triggered a huge "Aid to Orphans Action" in Hangzhou, and contributed to the establishment of Hangzhou Orphan Care Association. On January 10, at the 30th anniversary party of the Hangzhou Association for Caring for Orphans, Zhang Jian, a retired photojournalist from Hangzhou who took this photo, took his camera and walked onto the stage and took a group photo of Ding Hao and reporter Lou Shiwei, the interviewee of this report.
Hangzhou Orphan Care Association was founded on January 8, 1994 and is the only orphan association in China. Over the past 30 years, the ** association has given full play to the unique role of social organizations, and has helped more than 600 scattered orphans, raising and distributing various materials and funds with a total value of more than 15 million yuan. Since 2018, the scope of assistance has been expanded to the province and the western part of the country, so that more scattered orphans can receive sincere care and practical help from all walks of life.
