Hubei** all-media reporter Wang Jinghua.
The wind speed is 28 meters per second, and the temperature is minus 3 ......At 6 a.m. on the sixth day of the Lunar New Year on February 15, Li Guohua, a radar support officer, saw that the radar station was "icy and snowy" from remote monitoring, and he couldn't help but worry about the operation of the radar. In the remote monitoring, the Hubei ** all-media reporter saw that the ground near the Huanggang National Weather Radar Station was covered with a thin layer of snow, and the branches were also covered with ice.
At the junction of Hubei, Henan and Anhui provinces, the main peak of Kangwangzhai of Lion Peak, stands a striking white giant ball, which is the meteorological "eye of the sky" to capture the changes of wind and clouds - Huanggang National Weather Radar Station. In 2018, the China Meteorological Administration deployed the construction of the radar station and put it into operation, which is the only S-band radar in the eastern part of Hubei Province and the ninth new-generation weather radar in our province, providing scientific data support for precise monitoring, accurate forecasting and fine service.
Li Guohua is the director of the Huanggang Meteorological Information and Technical Support Center, who has been engaged in meteorological equipment support for 34 years and is familiar with every instrument and equipment in the station. In addition to the daily maintenance and inspection of the radar, Li Guohua and his colleagues go to the top of the mountain every week to conduct routine "physical examinations" for the radar to ensure the normal operation of the radar's various business systems.
Freezing winds often cause icing of wires and damage to optical fibers, affecting the normal operation of radar or data transmission. At 6:40, the sky was bright, and Li Guohua and his colleagues rushed to the radar station for inspection and maintenance.
When the vehicle reached the mountainside, 5 kilometers from the radar station, the road was slippery and difficult to move forward. "You have to go on foot! Li Guohua and his colleagues walked forward on foot against the wind and snow. Two and a half hours later, they arrived at the radar station at an altitude of 1,337 meters, sweat soaking the back of their clothes.
Check radar receivers, transmitters, servo systems, measure radar power, network, pulse width, noise system, ......There was no time to rest, Li Guohua only thought about repairing immediately. After confirming that everything was working properly with the radar system, Li Guohua and his colleagues breathed a sigh of relief.
Let's have a meal together! Li Guohua proposed. The conditions of the radar station are limited, and boiling water and instant noodles are the "main dish" of this dinner.
The Huanggang Meteorological Bureau is 165 kilometers away from the radar station on the top of the mountain, including 60 kilometers of mountain roads and 1 kilometers of walking roads, which usually takes more than 3 hours one way.
It is not only necessary to ensure the normal operation of the radar, but also to manually encrypt the observation in case of rain, snow and freezing weather, so as to provide timely, accurate and scientific observation data for coping with low temperature, rain, snow and freezing weather, and provide reliable data support for more accurate forecasting and early warning services. Li Guohua said firmly that the worse the weather, the heavier their responsibility.
Counting this year, Li Guohua has spent the Spring Festival in business positions for 8 consecutive years. "My perseverance can reunite more people with their families, and I feel that it is worth it. Li Guohua said.
