With the popularization of natural gas, it has brought convenience to the majority of public users, but if the use is not standardized and the disposal is unreasonable, it may also cause potential safety hazards and even accidents. For example, due to poor air circulation caused by closed doors and windows at home, hardening and cracking of natural gas connection hoses, unqualified or improper use of natural gas stoves, etc., natural gas use safety accidents are very likely to occur. In order to ensure the safety of residents' gas consumption, the Beijing Municipal Urban Management Commission reminds the majority of natural gas users to keep abreast of the use of gas equipment, pay attention to gas safety during use, and always tighten the string of safety to ensure safe gas use and ensure the safety of you and your family.
(1) Specifications for the use of natural gas for residents
Safe use of gas: When using gas, keep the room ventilated, when using gas to boil water and cook, you should first confirm whether the gas is burning normally, do not leave during cooking and boiling water, and pay attention to check whether there is soup or boiling water overflowing. When you are done, pay attention to turning off the gas cooktop switch. If you are not at home for a long time, please remember to close the valve in front of the gas meter in advance, do not close the window tightly, and keep the gas room well ventilated.
Regular inspection to prevent hidden dangers: aging of gas hoses and loose joints may occur, which is easy to cause gas accidents. You can check whether there is air leakage regularly, use soapy water (or detergent water) to smear valves, pipes and connections, if there is air leakage, there will be air bubbles, and gradually increase, remember not to use an open flame inspection, if you find that the hose is cracked and aging or bitten by rats, it should be replaced immediately.
Do not place flammable materials on the gas cooktop: do not hang heavy objects on gas facilities and pipelines, which can easily cause gas leakage. If items or flammable and explosive materials are piled up, there is a risk that not only will they ignite, but they may also cause the fire to spread further.
(2) Precautions for the use of natural gas appliances for residents
The gas burning appliances used by residential users mainly include three categories: household gas cookers, gas water heaters, and gas wall-hung boilers. The scrap period of household gas burning appliances is 8 years, and after this period, it should be replaced in time for the safety of your life and property.
Gas cooktops should have flame-out protection devices: once the flame is extinguished by spilled liquid or blown by the wind, the flame-out protection device can automatically cut off the gas source within 60 seconds to avoid gas leakage.
The hose connected to the gas appliance should be a special hose with the same life as the gas appliance, pay attention to check whether the hose connection is loose or fall off, and report for repair in time if any abnormalities are found.
Gas water heaters are forbidden to be installed in bathrooms. A strong exhaust gas water heater should be selected, and a flue should be installed to ensure that the combustion exhaust gas is discharged smoothly outside. The scrapping period of the gas water heater is 8 years, beyond which it should be replaced in time for the safety of your life and property. In-line water heaters are not conducive to combustion exhaust emissions, the state has banned production in 1999 and sales in 2000, if you are still using it, you should replace it as soon as possible.
The gas wall-hung boiler should be installed in an uninhabited room with gas, water supply, power supply, and convenient exhaust gas discharge. Usually the kitchen or an open balcony connected to the kitchen is the best choice for the installation location of the gas wall-hung boiler.
(3) Emergency response to residential natural gas leakage
Step 1 Close the main gas valve (the valve in front of the indoor meter) and cut off the gas source.
Step 2 Open the window for ventilation to reduce the indoor gas concentration.
Step 3: Eliminate all behaviors that may cause sparks. It is strictly forbidden to turn on all kinds of electrical equipment indoors, such as turning on and off lights, turning on exhaust fans or range hoods, and putting on and taking off chemical fiber clothes. If you find a gas leak in your neighbor's house, you should knock on the door and let them know.
Step 4 Indoor personnel should evacuate the scene as soon as possible, and call 119 or Beijing Gas Group Service **96777 in an outdoor open place in time.
