On March 6, the 2024 Wood Products and Furniture Export Exhibition (HAWAEXPO 2024), organized by Vietnam Wood Exhibition Joint Stock Company Viforest Fair, welcomed visitors simultaneously at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, District 7 and the White Palace Convention Center in Pham Van Dong City, Thu Duc City.
Nguyen Quoc Quoc President, President of Viforest Fair and Director of the Organizing Committee of HAWAEXPO 2024, said that this year's exhibition is the largest export exhibition of wood products and furniture in Vietnam. Specifically, the scale of HAWAEXPO in 2024 will be three times that of 2023, with a total of 2,500 booths and more than 500 exhibitors; Among them, more than 80% are domestic production enterprises, and the remaining 20% include well-known wood products and handicraft production enterprises in the ASEAN region, design units, domestic and foreign raw materials, accessories and supporting service providers, and other important parts of the wood industry to build a sustainable chain.
HAWAEXPO 2024 also focuses on promoting the wood processing industry from contract manufacturing (OEM) to personalized design product research and development (ODM) to increase the value of products made in Vietnam, fully demonstrating the strength and potential of Vietnam's wood and handicraft industry in the international market.
Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Quoc Trie said that exports of timber and forest products fell by 15 percent in 20234 per cent, which is an unprecedented decline in the timber processing and forest products export industries. "In order to achieve the above-mentioned export targets, the forestry industry needs to make sustained efforts and take basic measures in terms of technological innovation, use of raw materials, production and product circulation," he said. By holding the 2024 Wood Products & Furniture Export Exhibition, the Wood Merchants Association has demonstrated its initiative, flexibility, creativity and innovation in terms of promotion and customer expansion to adapt to the new situation. This event will be an effective promotion channel to promote exchanges and cooperation, help to promote the image of Vietnamese timber and wood products to global customers, and attract customers to buy Vietnamese timber and wood products. ”
