Does bathing help "heal"? Can it cure seven diseases and bestow seven blessings? This is not a statement, but comes from the ancient "Buddhist scriptures".
In ancient India, the use of grease to coat the body was the main cause of wind disease. Bathing is believed to be able to eliminate wind, dampness, and ice, and at the same time remove dirt from the body, so that the body can get the four major safety and well-being, and make the body feel light and free. Therefore, bathing has always been advocated by Buddhists.
In the Sutra of Bathing in the Greenhouse (Note 1), bathing is summarized as a method for removing seven kinds of diseases and obtaining seven kinds of good fortune
In the method of bathing, seven kinds of items should be used to remove the seven kinds of pain from the body and obtain the seven kinds of good fortune.
What are these seven items? They are fire, water, bath beans, paste, ash, poplar branches, and underwear. This is the method of bathing.
So, what are the seven kinds of sickness that are removed? The first is the four major safety concealments, and the second is to remove wind, dampness, ice, heat, and dirt, and finally make the body feel lighter and the eyes brighter. This is the removal of the seven afflictions of the monks.
So, what are the seven blessings? First of all, there are four diseases, always in good health, strong health, and highly respected. The second is that the life is pure, the appearance is dignified, not stained with dirt, and it is highly respected. Then there is the constant smell of the body, and the cleanliness of the clothes, which makes people happy to see it, and all of them are respectful and awe-inspiring. Moreover, the body is moisturized, exudes majesty, and is excellent in virtue, all of which are admired and admired, and stand alone. In addition, being kind and generous, being kind to others, and removing dirt and dirt will naturally lead to good fortune and a moment of enlightenment. Moreover, the speech is fragrant, square and neat, and the speech has an edifying effect, and all of them obey solemnly. Finally, where life is lived, the clothes and ornaments are as bright as pearls, and those who see it will be afraid and sigh.
As a result, after Buddhism was introduced to China, most of the monasteries built in various places followed the unspoken rules of India and set up bathhouses (Note 2).
Bathing beans, also known as bean shavings, are one of the eighteen things that monks often carry with them when bathing and washing. According to the 38th volume of the Ten Recitations, bath beans are powdered from soybeans, adzuki beans, mosa beans, peas, Kartybrata grass, pear pintuo seeds, etc., which are used for bathing and washing.
In the process of bathing, the application of massage paste can make ** condense and keep moisturizing, and also has the effect of dehumidifying and paralyzing. Ghee, also known as soybean, soybean oil, is made by boiling cow's milk and can be divided into raw crisp and cooked crisp. "If taken internally, it is often used for ** fever.
