On March 5th, the 61st anniversary of the National Lei Feng Memorial Day, in order to actively respond to the call of "learning from Comrade Lei Feng" and cultivate the awareness of volunteer service among young students, the general branch of the Food and Drug Engineering Department of Shijiazhuang Vocational and Technical College led the student volunteer service team to Guying Community, Zhufutun Street, Zhengding County, to carry out volunteer activities with the theme of "inheriting the spirit of Lei Feng and applying what you have learned in the community". Huang Haitao, secretary of the general branch of the Youth League, led the team, and teachers Liu Hao, Wang Xiaohao, and Yang Meng participated in the activity guidance.

At the event, the volunteer service team measured blood pressure and blood sugar for residents, and explained healthy diet and healthy lifestyle. Hypertension and diabetes are common concerns among residents, and volunteers explained in detail the dangers of hypertension and diabetes, as well as the importance of regular monitoring of blood pressure and blood sugar. The volunteer service team takes the form of door-to-door service for residents who are elderly and have limited mobility, and conducts health promotion, reminding them to pay attention to abnormal physical signals and seek medical treatment in time once abnormalities are found. At the same time, volunteers distributed publicity materials to residents, sharing nutritional recipes, sports health concepts and health knowledge for patients with hypertension and diabetes in vivid and easy-to-understand language, paying attention to "three reductions and three health", and advocating a healthy and civilized lifestyle.

This volunteer activity has served a total of 150 people, which has been well received by residents, so that the prevention of hypertension, diabetes and other diseases has received more attention, which is conducive to the early detection and intervention of high-risk groups and diabetes patients, and also enhances the volunteers' sense of social responsibility, so that students can truly serve the people with what they know and learn.

The spirit of Lei Feng has been passed down from generation to generation. The volunteer spirit of "dedication, fraternity, mutual assistance, and progress" is an important part of Lei Feng's spirit, and volunteer service is a vivid embodiment of young students learning from Lei Feng to do good deeds in the new era.
