Many readers believe that Grandma Liu's praise of the study is a praise for Daiyu's talent and erudition. However, in that era of "a woman's lack of talent is virtue", it was not something worth showing off for a woman to read too many books. The immortals here are not praises, because according to the rules of the fairy world, men and women cannot marry and have children. Even the Jade Emperor's sister will be punished by the law for life. Therefore, the girl who is described as a fairy is basically limited in her life path, and usually chooses to serve the gods or Buddhas, away from the distractions of the world.
A sentence from Grandma Liu:"It would be nice to draw this garden and take it home", so that Xichun began a huge painting project. Although it was a harsh winter, Jia's mother only cared about urging the progress of the project, regardless of whether she would be cold or tired in the spring. This made Xichun deeply feel the indifference of family affection, and strengthened her determination to break off with Hongchen. It can be said that Grandma Liu also indirectly"Degree"Cherish the spring.
Later, with the decay of Jiafu and the raiding of homes, many people suffered misfortunes, but Xichun had fled from the red dust and chose to serve the Buddha. Compared with Yuanchun and Yingchun, Xichun's ending is obviously more satisfying, at least she maintains her innocence.
Grandma Liu's story is full of deep meaning, and it is actually a kind of proverb. When she entered the Rongguo Mansion for the second time, she had already gained insight into the fate of Daiyu and Baochai. Therefore, she cleverly used the existing materials to weave one"Smoke firewood under the snow"The story vaguely foreshadows Daiyu's early death and Baochai's fate. It's all woven into this story. It's like seeing a verdict in a fantasy realm, everything is so real and relevant.
You can recall that which of the "stories" mentioned by Grandma Liu is not true? For example, she told the story of "Guanyin sending her son": in the east of the village, there is a 90-year-old grandmother, who recited Buddha devoutly and moved Guanyin Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva told her that because of her devotion to the Buddha, she was supposed to be the last child, but now the Jade Emperor gave her a grandson. The old grandmother had only one son, and this son had only one son, but this grandson died at the age of seventeen or eighteen, and the old grandmother cried very sadly.
However, she did get another grandson, who is only thirteen or fourteen years old this year, and looks like a snow ball, smart and clever. This story not only conforms to the hearts of Jia Mu and Mrs. Wang, but also Mrs. Wang and Jia Mu can listen to it, because it is in line with their reality and is very appropriate.
When Grandma Liu told the story about Mingyu, the Mingyu who was "literate and literate" but only lived to be seventeen or eighteen years old in her mouth was not the later Daiyu? This also explains why when Grandma Liu and Mother Jia came to the Xiaoxiang Pavilion, they only praised the study instead of praising Daiyu - Grandma Liu had already seen Daiyu's fate of being blushing and not dying well.
