It can cultivate people's temperament, delight the body and mind, and can also relieve emotions, release pressure, and bring great fun to work and life. As a sound lover, I usually like to use the speaker to listen to songs, listen to the radio, and enjoy **.
Recently, I found a few empty packaging boxes at home, and when I saw the hard texture of the cardboard, I remembered that I still had a few speakers, so I had a whim to make a carton speaker by myself. This is the first time to make a speaker, whether it can be done well, what is the sound effect of the made, I don't know the score.
I found the horn and wire, prepared a small saw, utility knife, screwdriver, screws and other tools, and got to work. I first chose a red cardboard gift box, because the cardboard of this box is thicker, the material is good, there is a certain hardness, and the internal space is larger, which is more suitable for speaker cabinets.
The first step is to choose a location to install the horn. Since it is a speaker, in addition to the sound quality, of course, the aesthetic effect of the cabinet should also be considered. I'm going to use two 5-inch full-range speakers for the speakers, so it's better to install the speakers in the middle of the box in an equal position on both sides. I used a ruler to accurately measure the distance and used a pen to outline the location of the horn hole on the box surface so that the horn could be installed.
The second step is to dig holes in the box. Choose one side of the box to install the horn. When I first started digging with a utility knife, I found that the cardboard was hard and it was not easy to cut and enlarge the round holes, so I changed to a small saw, and the speed immediately increased a lot. During the sawing process, as the saw moves back and forth, it also brings out a lot of dust or tiny particles, so it is best to wear a mask when working. The hole dug should be exactly the same as the horn, so the diameter of the hole must be constantly adjusted.
The third step is to install the horn. Once the horn hole is complete, the horn can be installed. At this time, it is necessary to carefully put the horn into the hole, and at the same time, the speaker cable should be arranged and pulled to the back. After placing the horn, tighten and fix the horn with four screws. In this way, the speaker is basically completed. Because the horn is not big, and there is plenty of space in the carton box, I didn't open the horn exhaust hole.
Step 4: Audition. Once the speaker was made, the exciting moment came, because I also wanted to know how this DIY carton speaker would sound like. Connect the speaker cable on the power amplifier, connect the CD player, turn on the power, put the CD, press the ** button, and the sound will come out immediately.
I've ** a few songs,Judging from the overall listening experience,The sound quality of this carton speaker is still good,The sound is clear,Full vocals,Because of the two full-range speakers used,I feel that the high-frequency part is slightly lacking。 Then I connected to the radio to listen to the radio program, the host's magnetic and warm voice came out of the speaker, and the listening feeling was good, but when the ** radio song, the sound was slightly flat, and the sense of hierarchy was not good enough.
In response to this problem,I added a tweeter to the speaker,So that the sound quality of this speaker has been improved a lot,The layering of the sound is immediately reflected,The treble is clear and sweet,The midrange is full and comfortable,The low frequency is also full,The sound field is broad,I didn't expect the carton speaker I made to have this effect,It's a bit unexpected。
I did the same, and then I made another carton speaker. I use two 3-inch full-range speakers for this speaker,The sound field is not as wide as the previous speaker,The volume is also smaller,This speaker is more suitable for listening to musical instruments,Such as violin、Flute、Flute、Guitar、Hulusi, etc.,The effect is not bad。
