On the evening of the 29th, the ** Committee of the Vietnam Women's Federation held the launching ceremony of the 2024 "Ao Dai Week" and the art performance of "Vietnam Ao Dai Fragrance" in Hanoi. Vice President Wu Thi Yingchun attended.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ho Thi Nga, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam and chairman of the Vietnam Women's Federation, said that the event aims to promote the value of Ao Dai in Vietnam, inspire the community's love and pride in Ao Dai, and protect Ho's responsibility to carry forward the value of Ao Dai's legacy. The event is also a good opportunity to introduce Vietnamese culture, customs and the image of Vietnamese women to international friends.
In 2019, the Vietnam Women's Federation initiated and jointly held a series of activities with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism entitled "Ao Dai – Vietnamese Cultural Heritage". Since then, despite the coronavirus outbreak, Ao Dai Week has been held every year in the first week of March.
Ho Thi Neu said that based on the efforts of all levels and localities, and the positive response of domestic women and men as well as the Vietnamese community abroad, Ao Dai has become a costume worn by Vietnamese women and men, the elderly and young people in major ethnic festivals, national, local and family events, and has been loved by international friends.
Since the initiative launched by the Vietnam Women's Federation in 2019, up to now, many activities to promote Vietnam Ao Dai have been held all over the country, such as the Ao Dai Beauty ** Competition, the Ao Dai Value Knowledge Competition, the Ao Dai Parade and so on. In addition, there are also women in need and women in extreme poverty to send Ao Dai; Ao Dai sewing and design training class, "Pride of Ao Dai Vietnam" Ao Dai design competition, etc.
At the "Vietnam Ao Dai Fragrance" art performance event, various special cultural programs and ao dai catwalks that promote the image of Vietnamese women were staged one after another. The delegates had the opportunity to ** more than 50 Ao Dai designers' Ao Dai collections. The wives of ambassadors to Vietnam who traveled through South Ao Dai attended the event.
