The process of hotel delivery robots controlling elevators to reach the corresponding floors usually involves the collaborative work of multiple aspects such as robotics, elevator control systems, and hotel management software.
Hotel delivery robots need to have certain autonomous navigation and positioning capabilities. This is typically achieved with built-in sensors, cameras, and map data. When the robot receives the delivery task, it will plan the best delivery route based on the hotel's map data, including the elevator that needs to be passed.
When the robot approaches the elevator, it interacts with the elevator control system through a built-in communication module. This communication module may use wireless communication technology, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, to establish a connection with the elevator control system. The robot sends a request to the elevator control system indicating that it needs to take the elevator to the designated floor.
After receiving the robot's request, the elevator control system will decide whether to allow the robot to take the elevator based on the current elevator status and the floor layout of the hotel. If the elevator is currently idle and there are no higher priority requests for the destination floor, the elevator control system will allow the robot to ride the elevator.
Once the robot is allowed to ride the elevator, it automatically moves to the elevator door and waits for the elevator to arrive. When the elevator arrives, the robot enters the elevator and sends a command to the elevator control system again indicating the floor it needs to reach. The elevator control system will adjust the operation target of the elevator according to this instruction and deliver the robot to the designated floor.
After the robot reaches the designated floor, it automatically leaves the elevator and continues to follow the planned route to the delivery destination. At the same time, the elevator control system also updates its status information in order to process subsequent elevator requests.
