The pain and joy of writing material(Essay.)Zhang Ruizhi.

I have worked in the organs of the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army for 23 years, and in order to practice the very important quality and skill of writing, I have truly experienced the hardships and joys, and I have truly enjoyed the sweetness and gains after enduring hardships. When it comes to writing material, I have the feeling that it is a painful and happy process, and it is also a dialectic of giving and receiving.

The first is the pain of embarrassment. Many cadres may have this experience, when you did not write the materials well, and the leader did not criticize you; When you can't write materials that the leader is satisfied with within the specified time, which affects the work; When the material you write is handed over to the leader and is changed beyond recognition; When the material you wrote is handed in and the leader rewrites it by someone else; When you write a speech material, the leader does not speak according to the script at the meeting......I feel very uncomfortable, very embarrassed, there is an indescribable pain, I really want to find a crack in the ground to get into, I really feel that I have no face to meet people, I really feel sorry for the training of leaders and organizations, I really regret that my writing ability is so poor, I feel that I have to bear my job responsibilities, and I can't beat myself twice. That kind of embarrassment can't be described in words, that kind of embarrassed look with a red face and a thick neck I don't want to have it again in my life, and that kind of ruthless look that I don't fight for will be unforgettable for a lifetime. I remember that at the end of 1996, when I was first transferred to the General Political Department as a secretary, the General Political Department wanted to hold a security and stability work conference, and the office leaders asked me to write an important message at the meeting, and immediately report it to the General Political Department leaders as a work trend after the meeting.

So, during the day's meeting, I read materials, listened to speeches, participated in activities, set themes, and wrote subtexts. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, I sent the written important message to the office leader for review and correction (it must be reported before 4 o'clock), but the room leader almost did not use a word, and personally handled the work, and it only took half an hour to rewrite an important message, and after submitting it to the department leader, it was reported to the general political leader without changing a word. I was blushing and hot for a while, and I didn't dare to look directly at the leader of the room, feeling very uncomfortable in my heart and feeling very shameless. It took only half an hour for the leaders of the office to write an important message, but they did not understand it for nearly a day, and they deeply felt that they were too far from the requirements of the General Political Department's writing quality, and even had doubts about their suitability to work in the General Political Department. I didn't go to dinner that day, because I didn't have the heart or appetite, so I locked up in my room and cried, and I reflected on it carefully, thinking carefully about how to improve my writing skills as soon as possible in the future. I secretly swore that I must not be discouraged, and I must make a good appearance in the organs, and make every effort to practice my pen and hard work, so that I am worthy of my own post, worthy of the training of leaders, and worthy of the honor of working in the general political organs. Since then, I have actively undertaken the task of writing materials, and have worked tirelessly to improve the level of writing and writing, and have slowly grown into the "pen stick" of the institution. In the past, the embarrassing incident in writing never happened again, but on the contrary, he became the main force and backbone of the writing work of the organs, wrote many high-quality official documents, and was highly affirmed by the leaders and praised by the comrades, and was also rewarded many times for this, twice awarded the third-class meritorious service, was rated as an outstanding cadre of the General Political Department, was promoted to deputy director in charge of secretarial work, and later was promoted to director of the Propaganda Bureau.

The second is the bitterness of labor. The agency has few manpower, many things, heavy writing tasks, high standards, and many times the materials are one after another, and one article is more urgent than the other. Many comrades often write when they go to work, and they have to write when they drive at night after work, otherwise they will make mistakes; Give up rest and write during business hours and holidays, sleep in bed at night, and when you have an understanding, you have to write when you get up, for fear of forgetting this inspiration; When the material task is urgent, I can only work overtime to write it day and night, because the material will be used the next day. After a manuscript is completed, I am tired and dizzy, my back hurts, my cervical spine is very uncomfortable, and I am physically and mentally exhausted; When you can't open your mind and have nothing in your heart, you don't know what to write, you can't write, it's more difficult to write a point of view than having a child, and you can't write dozens of words in half a day; When the material task is not completed, I feel pressure, not steady, I can't eat well, I can't sleep, sometimes I have insomnia all night, and I can't use sleeping pills, not to mention the pain, it's too uncomfortable. Due to the abundance of materials, heavy tasks, urgent requirements, and high standards, many cadres of many organs spend nearly two-thirds of their business time working overtime every year, and they cannot count how many nights they have stayed up, how many holidays they have sacrificed, and how much spare time they have given up. In order to write a good written material, some cadres of organs simply live in their work units and do not go home, crawl on their desks to take a nap when they are sleepy, and satisfy their hunger when they are hungry with instant noodles, and often lie down to sleep at one or two o'clock at night, and get up again at four or five o'clock in the morning, just to write out the materials within the time required by the leaders.

Once, in order to rush to write a material, I basically completed the task from morning to midnight at more than 3 o'clock in the evening, and I was sleepy and tired, so I got on my bicycle and wanted to rush home and sleep immediately. Because along the way I was still thinking about a point in the material to write the problem that it was not in place, after entering the dormitory building of the family home, I didn't know if I went up the wrong floor, I couldn't open the door lock when I took out the key, and I was so anxious that I was sweating, and the man in the room thought it was a thief, and suddenly opened the door and rushed out with a wooden stick, and at the moment of calling me, I found that I was his downstairs neighbor, and put down his raised hand again, and asked me how to open the door lock of his house in the middle of the night, I quickly explained: "I'm sorry, I just thought about it, and I went to the wrong floor, I'm sorry." "It's really a blessing, I'm still a little scared when I think about it now, if the man at that time had done it a second earlier, the consequences would have been unimaginable. Writing materials is so bitter that you must concentrate and concentrate on it, so bitter that you must rack your brains to really drill into it and go deeper, so bitter that you must carefully scrutinize and revise repeatedly, so that you can write high-quality written materials. After it was published in the journal "Political Work of the Squadron" in the name of the unit, it received a great response and was widely acclaimed. Practice has proved that in order to write high-quality written materials, one must have the courage to endure hardships, study hard and practice hard, and not be afraid of hardships and tiredness, let alone hide from materials. Otherwise, you will never be able to improve your writing ability, and you will never be a qualified and competent organ cadre or an admirable master of writing, all of whom are "eaten" by hardship, "boiled" by working overtime, and "forced" by urgent, difficult, and arduous tasks.

And then there's the joy of happiness. Although there is a side of hard study, hard drilling, hard training, and hard work in writing materials, it is more about feeling happiness from the affirmation and encouragement of leaders, experiencing happiness from the completion of heavy tasks, enjoying happiness from the improvement of personal quality and ability, and harvesting happiness from the promotion and reuse of the organization. Writing materials is bitter for physical and mental strength, sweet for psychology and harvest, and what you get is a bright future and a happy life. You see: whenever an official document has been tormented, laborious, and changed several times, and finally received the affirmation of the leaders and the praise of the comrades, it is really relieved, and all the hardships are put in the back of my mind, and the mood is particularly comfortable, and the psychological satisfaction is great, and the feeling of striving for victory and successfully reaching the top arises spontaneously; Whenever an article is carefully considered, carefully drafted, repeatedly carved, and the writing task is completed with high quality, praised and affirmed by the leader, or published in the newspaper, the joy is difficult to describe in words, as if winning the jackpot and winning the lottery, this happiness and joy are no less than the players who won the championship and the students who won the title of the gold list; Whenever your writing ability is improved, your ability to take care of the work of the agency becomes stronger and stronger, and you are reused by the organization and leadership, you will feel that it doesn't matter if you are tired and busy, because the hard work is worth it, the hard work is rewarded, and the hard work is deserved, and you get far more than you give. In the 23 years I have worked in the General Political Department, I have completed an average of 200,000 words of written materials every year, and published more than 550 articles in newspapers and magazines, many of which have won awards. He has published three monographs, "Progress by Quality and Ability," "256 Details of Being a Good Cadre of an Organ," and "269 Ways to Do a Good Job in Organ Work," and is also preparing to publish a book entitled "The Key to Open the Door to Organ Work." These are not only the testimonies of one's own completion of written materials, but also a summary of one's own experience in doing a good job in organ work, and more importantly, the fruitful results of one's continuous improvement of one's writing ability.

One year, on a whim, I collected some high-quality written materials that I had written over the years into a thick booklet (declassified), and took it to the Beijing Demobilized Cadres Job Fair, and let the recruitment staff of a ** state organ take a look, and they immediately asked me: "Are you changing jobs this year?" If you change jobs, we are willing to accept you, welcome to work in our department. "There is also a particularly good central enterprise that read my resume, especially after the collection of this written material, said on the spot, if you change jobs this year, we are willing to provide you with a satisfactory job. From this incident, I have profoundly realized that comrades with strong writing ability are very popular in the army and in the localities, and they are all sought-after talents; they do not need to ask people everywhere to find connections, they will have a good job, and they will certainly have a good development prospect. In addition to other qualities, one of the important abilities that the organization and leadership look at is the ability to write and write. Facts have proved that the bitterness in writing will definitely be exchanged for the sweetness of life, there must be sweetness in the bitterness, there will be harvest in the bitterness, and there must be happiness in the bitterness!
