Recently, Laizhou Port has been approved by the General Administration of Customs, and Laizhou Port will be able to import soybeans, corn, barley, wheat, and miscellaneous grains (including sorghum, buckwheat, oats, peas, mung beans, red beans, etc.) in bulk by water.
The designated supervision site for imported grain in Laizhou Port has successfully passed the acceptance of the General Administration of Customs, marking that Laizhou Port officially has the function of directly importing grain, and effectively guarantees the demand for imported grain in the grain and oil processing industry and aquaculture industry in our city and surrounding areas.
The designated supervision site for imported grain in Laizhou Port is located in the customs supervision operation site of Laizhou Port, which includes functional areas such as berthing and unloading areas, smart bayonets, grain inspection platforms, special warehouses for imported grain, and quarantine processing areas. The daily handling capacity of the grain terminal can reach 120,000 tons, the supervision site covers an area of 25 acres, and the total storage capacity of the grain storage tank is 640,000 tons.
Laizhou Port is a national first-class open port with unique advantages. The north can be connected to the Beiliang Port of Dalian, and the south can be connected to the large-scale grain processing enterprises in the south, radiating the surrounding Changyi, Pingdu, Huantai, Guangrao, Zouping, Huimin and other 17 counties and cities, and is an important base for the realization of bulk grain railway, highway and sea transportation in the Yellow and Bohai Sea regions. After the designated supervision site for imported grain in Laizhou Port is put into use, it can rely on the superior geographical location of Laizhou Port, complete port facilities and convenient inland transportation channels in Laizhou City, so as to better give full play to the advantages of the project itself, realize the transformation and value-added of grain products at multiple levels and links, broaden the local grain market, increase farmers' income, improve the economic and social benefits of enterprises, and promote the sustained and rapid development of the local economy.
Our city is a big city of agriculture and animal husbandry, feed, breeding and other industries have a large consumption of grain, and the local grain output is difficult to meet the development needs of enterprises. Now, after the designated supervision site for imported grain in Laizhou Port has passed the acceptance, it has not only effectively reduced the comprehensive logistics cost of imported grain enterprises in Laizhou and its surroundings, but also further optimized the local business environment. The relevant person in charge of Laizhou Customs said.
At present, there are many enterprises in Binzhou, Weifang and Yantai that are interested in cooperating to develop the import and export of grain and edible oil, which is mainly based on the import of soybean and pea raw materials.
In order to smoothly promote the acceptance of the site, Laizhou Customs actively coordinated with the relevant departments at the higher level, cooperated with relevant units, made many on-site inspections, guided the construction and transformation of port hardware and software, and actively promoted the declaration of designated supervision sites for imported grain. In the next step, Laizhou Customs will strengthen the quarantine supervision of imported grain, continue to optimize the supervision process of imported grain, make every effort to ensure the food security of imports while clearing customs efficiently, prevent the invasion of harmful alien species, guard the national security line, and make every effort to ensure the high-quality development of Laizhou's foreign trade.
