Wang Qiang, chief of the fifth section of the construction service center of Yantai Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, introduced that the comprehensive renovation and upgrading project of Tongshi South Road covers a total length of 5 from Riverside Road in the south to Gangcheng West Street in the north3 km. The current road structure layer of Tongshi South Road is seriously damaged, the street lights and other facilities are outdated, and the greening level is low. The renovation is not only the repaving of the pavement, but also the all-round transformation of sidewalks and street lights, the improvement of green belts, the addition of pocket parks, the canalization of some intersections, the improvement of road quality, the formation of a reasonable spatial layout, important nodes, distinctive cultural characteristics of high-quality roads.
Tongshi South Road has a large traffic flow, and road construction has brought a lot of pressure to traffic. In order to keep the road smooth, the construction adopts the method of half-width closure and sectional construction. According to the demand of surrounding traffic flow, the project will be divided into three sections for transformation. The first section: the section of Tonglin Road - South Railway Station South Road will be closed on March 4, and it is planned to be completed and opened to traffic before "May Day"; Section 2: South Railway Station South Road-Riverside Road Section; Section 3: Gangcheng West Street-Tonglin Road Section, and Gangcheng West Street Intersection Canalization. The second and third sections will be constructed on a later date after the "May Day".
