The tailings slurry from the concentrator of Tonggang Group Slate Mining Company is carefully escorted by the underflow pumping station and directly flows into the five sand pumping station of the tailings pond. Here, the tailings slurry is relayed by four slurry pumps at the Wusha Pumping Station and sent to the reservoir area for damming and ore drawing. However, in the past few years of actual operation, the operation mode of the slurry pump has gradually exposed some problems.
First and foremost is the singularity of its mode of operation. Regardless of the distance between the dam construction and ore drawing operation point and the Wusha pumping station, the two pumps always run side by side in series, which undoubtedly brings heavy pressure to the control of electricity costs in the tailings workshop. Not only that, but this mode of operation also leads to double the wear and consumption of the wearing parts of the slurry pump, which further increases the production cost.
In response to this problem, we conducted an in-depth analysis and proposed optimization and improvement plans. When the dam construction or ore drawing operation site is close to the Wusha pumping station, we adopt the single-pump operation mode, which can not only save power consumption, but also avoid excessive wear and tear of wearing parts. At the same time, we have also added valves and tees at the series connection of the two pumps of the original slurry pump, and connected with the conveying pipeline through the self-made elbow, so as to realize the flexible switching of the double pump series and parallel mode.
The improved slurry pump system not only makes the working mode more flexible, but also greatly improves the continuity and stability of the beneficiation operation. According to statistics, the average monthly electricity consumption has dropped from 1382 kW·h before the transformation to 858 kW·h, a decrease of 38%, and the production cost has been effectively controlled. At the same time, the service life of each set of wearing parts of the slurry pump has also been extended by 4 months, with a direct balance of about 70,000 yuan.
The improvement of the operation mode of the slurry pump not only optimizes the working mode and improves the production efficiency, but also saves electricity and prolongs the service life of wearing parts. This not only ensures the technical requirements of the "middle line dam construction", but also realizes the saving of production costs. This improvement is not only a reflection of our pursuit of technology, but also our commitment to production efficiency and environmental responsibility.
