The Yellow River is one of the birthplaces of civilization in the world, and is the creator, bearer, witness and guardian of the 5,000-year-old civilization of the Chinese nation. The 2023 International Poetry and Wine Culture Conference will continue the poetry journey of "From the Source to the Sea", with the theme of "Toasting the Yellow River with a Cup of Wine", and invite the South China Oil Painting and Landscape Painting School Research Institute as a partner to explore the poetry and wine culture along the Yellow River, while carrying out the "Poetry and Painting Together" sketching, style collection and oil painting creation activities. From April to September, through the collection of wind from Guide, Lanzhou, Xi'an, Yuncheng, Linfen, Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Longmen, Dongying and other cities along the route, the cultural characteristics of different cities are interpreted and conveyed with oil painting art, and a journey of tracing the origin of Chinese culture is started.

This exhibition brings together 70 oil paintings created by 25 artists from the South China Oil Painting and Landscape Painting Research Institute, which are full of poetic oil painting artworks, focusing on urban development with visual art, showing the historical and cultural heritage and beautiful features of the Yellow River, and praising the new development of the city in the new era.

Exhibition hall scene. When the poem touches the painting, the text suddenly has a temperature; When oil painting meets poetry, the picture has a rhythm.

The works exhibited in this exhibition are splendid, and the collection and excavation of the cultural landscapes along the Yellow River show the artists' unique understanding, and they all have personalized language expressions. These works are different from some other fast-food forms that have been created overnight in sketching exhibitions, and they are obviously carefully created after deep thinking and transformation, and they are a feast of different cuisines, which is pleasing to the eye.

For the scenery of the north, the artists of the south are all passers-by, and most of them are superficial, and generally do not have a deep feeling. However, judging from the works on display in this exhibition, the artists participating in the event do have a high level of literary and artistic cultivation, and their focus and ability to grasp and express beauty are admirable. It shows that the Southern China School of Oil Painting and Landscape Painting has a high-level team.

Savor the works on display, the rugged and heroic along the Yellow River reveals a lot of slenderness and warmth, which is not common in other exhibitions, and is one of the characteristics of this exhibition. The artists grasped the beauty that is common but not easy to be discovered around the river, extracted the beautiful elements of the landscape, and used composition, light, color, concept, etc., to present the beauty in front of the audience, so that the scenery has a poetic meaning, and the two-dimensional picture has a multi-dimensional meaning, which is very moving.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Southern China Oil Painting Landscape Exhibition Seminar was held on the second floor of the Phoenix Art Museum, and the participating artists and some theorists spoke freely, discussing the language expression, technical pursuit, and material research of oil painting creation, and put forward an academic proposition, that is, landscape painting should pursue "poetic expression", and the Southern China Oil Painting Landscape School will start from this aspect in the future to carry out in-depth ** and practice.
