The total area is 15The 30,000-hectare Shandong Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve is the most complete wetland ecosystem in China's warm temperate zone, where hundreds of rare birds such as Oriental white storks and black-billed gulls breed here, and 370 species and 6 million birds have begun to call it home.
In 2023, the "Wetland Guardian Program" will be implemented in the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve in Shandong Province to carry out biodiversity conservation work. You see, the Yellow River estuary, which coincides with winter, welcomes batches of wintering elves, opening an interesting encounter here.
Do you know those who love wetlands? Ecological environment is the main influencing factor for the maintenance of biodiversity, such as vegetation growth determines the habitat of birds, meteorological conditions, soil environmental conditions and water quality conditions determine vegetation growth and benthic organisms distribution. It can be seen that the protection of wetlands is closely related to the ecological environment, infrastructure, public advocacy and other work!
Launched in 2019, the "Wetland Guardian Program" of the China Greening Association has contributed to the conservation of wetland biodiversity in many aspects, such as the establishment of a public education base for biodiversity conservation, the development of wetland bird conservation and nature education activities, the construction of comprehensive ecological and environmental protection facilities for bird watching, the provision of monitoring, bird rescue and other related equipment to the reserve, and the protection and restoration of the habitats of important species in the reserve. Build a happy home where man and nature coexist in harmony.

In December 2023, the project has installed meteorological, water quality and soil environmental monitoring stations at the Yellow River Estuary Management Station, Dawenliu Management Station and 1022 Management Station in the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve in Shandong Province to obtain continuous and large-scale ecological and environmental data.
The maintenance and continuous improvement of the wetland ecological environment can be manifested by ecological environment parameters, and the continuous maintenance and improvement of the habitat environment where diverse organisms are located is the premise of biodiversity conservation and improvement. Let's take a look at the station layout of the ecological environment monitoring equipment at the Yellow River Estuary project site of the "Wetland Guardian Plan"!
Water quality monitoring equipment is set up in the ecological restoration areas of the three management stations to monitor the changes in water quality conditions in the ecological restoration areas in different seasons, especially in the ecological water replenishment stage of water and sand transfer.
Soil monitoring equipment is set up in the core area of the three management stations in the reserve, and is arranged at the high tide level as much as possible, with the purpose of observing the changes of soil properties and time in the process of rainfall, ecological water replenishment and ecological restoration in the reserve.
Meteorological monitoring equipment is located near the coastline and in areas with more human activities, with the aim of providing real-time and accurate meteorological data for ecological patrol, management and tourism areas in protected areas.
Protecting wetlands is not only protecting wetlands, but also protecting our future. Take action in daily life, do a good job of environmental protection, and you can also donate 10 yuan to protect 1 square meter of wetland by participating in the project. I hope that more friends will join the "Wetland Guardian Project" project to maintain the ecological environment, protect rare animals, and give them a safe and warm home.
Up to now, the monitoring equipment for ecological and environmental facilities has been installed, and please continue to pay attention to the "Wetland Guardian Plan" project of the China Greening Association for follow-up progress!
