In August 1978, in the compound of the Shandong Provincial Public Security Department, a tombstone engraved with "Tomb of Martyr Zhang Guofeng" stood quietly there, and a statue of Zhang Guofeng stood under the shade of the tree. Here, Zhang Guofeng's relatives are paying tribute to the life deeds of this martyr.
In the wars of the 40s of the 20th century, Zhang Guofeng faced two executions, but miraculously survived. He was not afraid of the first day, fought against the Japanese invaders with the spirit and integrity of a revolutionary, and continued to serve the people after the founding of New China until he unfortunately died in an unjust case. Today, justice has finally been served, the contributions of the martyrs have been affirmed, and Zhang Guofeng's story has become a revolutionary legend that inspires future generations.
If you want to talk about Zhang Guofeng's legendary experience, you must go back to the Anti-Japanese War period in the 40s of the 20th century. In 1917, Zhang Guofeng was born in Shouguang, Shandong Province, in an ordinary peasant family. After the July 7 Incident in 1937, he gave up his job as a primary school teacher and joined the Shandong Column of the Eighth Route Army and became a military and political cadre.
In February 1940, Zhang Guofeng, then the head of the hoeing and rape section of the Nanyi Administration, came to Andi Village, Yinan County, to attend the inaugural meeting of the county administration held the next day. February 7 is Chinese New Year's Eve, the market day of the embankment, and the village is crowded. Zhang Guofeng, as the person in charge of security work, was particularly busy this day. That night, he rested in the village with Li Hanying, a propaganda officer he had just met.
In the early hours of the next morning, a noisy sound of horses' hooves suddenly sounded outside the village, waking up the exhausted two. Zhang Guofeng immediately grabbed the pistol and ran out of the door with Li Hanying. An activist happily told them that the "Old Eighth Road" was coming. Zhang Guofeng was overjoyed when he heard this, and hurriedly took Li Hanying out to greet him.
When they approached, they were stunned to find that these "Eighth Route Army" were all wearing steel helmets, wearing straight yellow tweed coats, and riding high-headed horses - this was clearly a Japanese devil! Zhang Guofeng immediately pulled out his pistol and wanted to shoot a warning, but the gun was dumb. At this moment, the puppet army rushed out, surrounded the two of them, and knocked them to the ground with the butts of their guns.
It turned out that the enemy learned that the county administration was going to set up a general meeting, and specially sent troops to ambush it. Fortunately, Zhang Guofeng set up a sentry at the entrance of the village, and the conference personnel were able to escape in advance. Zhang Guofeng and Li Hanying were escorted to the market square to wait for interrogation by the Japanese army.
A traitor with ** in his heart secretly reminded them that no matter what the result of the interrogation was, it could not be said that it was the Eighth Route Army, so as not to invite death. Zhang Guofeng understood and decided to pretend to be a Kuomintang soldier. While they were nervously waiting, the Eighth Route Army Special Service Battalion and the county brigade rushed to the rescue and engaged in a fierce gun battle with the Japanese army. The Japanese suffered heavy casualties and were forced to retreat. They took out their anger on their captives.
At dawn on February 9, five prisoners were taken out of the house by the Japanese army, with Zhang Guofeng and Li Hanying coming last. The first three were shot by the Japanese army one after another, and soon it was Li Hanying's turn. On the execution ground, in the face of the muzzle, he was happy to die and resolutely unyielding. The Japanese shot with a trembling hand that only scratched his ear. The second shot hit the upper right abdomen, and Lee Han-young fell to the ground. After that, Zhang Guofeng was also shot twice and lay in a pool of blood.
After the Japanese army inspected, they believed that the two had been killed and walked away. As everyone knows, they all miraculously still have a breath left. The two traitors who interrogated the body found out about this situation, and out of comradeship, they did not report it to the Japanese army, but asked Zhang Guofeng and them to endure and support it again.
On this day, Zhang Guofeng and Li Hanying struggled on the edge of life and death. They gritted their teeth and endured the day. After dark, the soldiers of the Eighth Route Army found them and sent them to the field hospital for rescue.
Under the careful care of the villagers, Zhang Guofeng recovered from his injuries and was discharged from the hospital. He fell in love with the female guerrilla Fan Lin and became husband and wife. From the line of life and death in 1940 to the knot in 1942, Zhang Guofeng experienced the ups and downs of life. He showed the courage and integrity of a revolutionary in this series of events.
After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Zhang Guofeng continued to work in the public security system, holding a number of important positions, and in 1956, he became the director of the Shandong Provincial Public Security Department. During that tumultuous period, he was wrongfully imprisoned for three months because his experience of not being shot by the Japanese during the mutiny was questioned. After rehabilitating Zhaoxue in 1978, Zhang Guofeng had already died of illness. Now, the martyr's exploits have finally been recognized, and future generations will cherish his great dedication even more.
Zhang Guofeng's story inspires us to defy difficulties and keep the light and heat in our hearts in the dark. Despite the fate of the ill-fated people, the seeds of justice will eventually blossom and bear fruit. In the face of suffering, we must be like Zhang Guofeng to hold our chests high, have no regrets, go all out with grace, and unswervingly pursue truth and justice.
