The United States has not stopped "provoking" and forcibly boarding ships to "inspect and enforce the law" against Chinese fishing vessels
On February 26, two Chinese fishing boats were forcibly boarded by the U.S. Coast Guard and Kiribati** while fishing in waters off Kiribati for what the U.S. defines as "law enforcement."
This incident caused an uproar among the Chinese people, and why did Chinese fishermen come to the US Coast Guard to "inspect and enforce the law" if they fished well? This is too wide for the United States, even if Chinese fishermen strayed into the waters of Kiribati, it would not be your turn to "enforce the law" from the US Coast Guard! Today, let's take a look at how Kiribati gets mixed up with the United States? And how can the U.S. Coast Guard "enforce the law" in the Pacific?
The Republic of Kiribati, located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, consists of 33 islands with a total population of about 120,000. Kiribati is located at the equator and was almost submerged due to rising sea levels due to global warming. Due to the geographical location, Kiribati is very rich in fishery resources, of course, only fishery, with 2,000 hectares of arable land, but only 39 percent of permanent farmland5%, which is a small amount of land area of 811 square kilometers. Phosphates were once produced, but they were exhausted. As a result, Kiribati is a country with a very poor economy and extreme dependence on foreign aid.
Kiribati was originally a British colony, but later became a country of its own from the United Kingdom. A year after the founding of the People's Republic of China, Kiribati established diplomatic relations with China, and China also gave a lot of economic help to this small country, helping Kiribati to develop its economy, and China was able to build a satellite tracking station in Kiribati. It wasn't until 2003 that a Chinese named Anotet Tang became Kiribati**, he severed diplomatic relations between China and Kiribati, turned to the United States, and even "established diplomatic relations" with Taiwan. However, instead of benefiting Kiribati, life became more and more difficult, and it was only after Inaut Tong stepped down that Kiribati and China resumed diplomacy.
And how did Kiribati, which is friendly to China's diplomacy, "search for ships" with the US Coast Guard?
Kiribati has signed a "shiprider" agreement with the United States, which allows the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy to board and search Kiribati's designated EEZ or on the high seas for suspicious vessels that violate laws or regulations.
As for the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Coast Guard, this unit is one of the six major armed forces of the United States, and its main mission is to protect the U.S. coastline and the safety of navigation around it. The U.S. Coast Guard belongs to the military sequence, and the ** it is equipped with is also used to deal with war, and in the event of war, this team will be handed over to the U.S. Navy.
Kiribati is not the only country that has signed the "shipboard observer" agreement, and the entire 12 Pacific island countries have signed this agreement, which is also the sadness of small countries, and they are not even qualified to say no to the United States, a "hegemon" country.
This agreement has greatly strengthened US control over the Pacific island countries and expanded the US Navy's military superiority in the Asia-Pacific region. Of course, the main purpose of the United States is to monitor those countries that have the ability to conduct ocean-going operations, which is actually China. The so-called "law enforcement" is nothing more than a small action in addition to monitoring Chinese ships, deliberately blocking the fishing of Chinese fishermen, and "retaliating" against countries that have good relations with China.
China's development is too fast, and the combat effectiveness of its navy is becoming stronger and stronger, so the United States should strengthen its control over the Pacific island countries and impose a military blockade on China.
This is not the first time that the United States has targeted Chinese vessels, in 1993, a cargo ship named "Yinhe" departed from Tianjin for the Middle East, and while passing through the waters of the Gulf of Oman, the US Navy asked to board the ship for inspection on the grounds that "there were prohibited chemicals on board". The crew of the "Yinhe" refused this excessive demand, and then was forced by the US Navy to the high seas of the Strait of Hormuz, and in order to trap the "Yinhe" in this area, the United States cut off the GPS signal in the area where the "Yinhe" was located.
The "Yinhe", which had lost its navigation, could only stop, and was so sleepy for 18 days, the food and fresh water on board had been exhausted, and the crew was almost collapsed. Considering the safety of the crew, China can only agree to the US military boarding and inspection. The end result was that there were no banned chemicals on board at all.
The occurrence of the "Galaxy" incident is rooted in two points.
The first point is that there is no own satellite navigation system. It has always relied on the GPS of the United States, and the Americans said that the crew of the "Galaxy" almost starved to death because they lost their direction and could not dock to replenish supplies. China cannot have its own satellite navigation, and there will be things that will be controlled by others in the future.
The second point is that China's navy is not strong enough. At the beginning, the United States dared to treat the "Yinhe" in this way because the strength of our navy was not equal to that of the United States, and we did not have a strong navy that could protect our Chinese ships.
But now it's different, you can say to the United States that "times have changed"! Now that we have our own "Beidou" satellite system, we no longer have to rely on the American GPS. In terms of the navy, we will have 3 aircraft carriers this year, as well as our self-developed J-35 stealth carrier-based aircraft, and the combat effectiveness of the navy will be greatly upgraded!
Thirty years ago, our "Milky Way" was stopped by the United States and forced to board it for inspection, and 30 years later, even if the Houthis and the United States fall out, our "Milky Way" will be able to pass through the Persian Gulf without ** protection.
China has developed to this day, and it is absolutely impossible to let the "Yinhe" incident 30 years ago happen again, and the strength of the country gives us the confidence to make our attitude clear to the United States! When the people are violated, China will definitely fight back!
