A heavy snowfall and continuous low temperature and freezing weather before the Spring Festival this year caused Yuelu Mountain to suffer a freezing disaster. According to the field survey results of the Provincial Forestry Survey Institute, the average forest damage rate in the Lushan Scenic Area is 7784%, of which the damage rate of trees above 160 meters above sea level was more than 90%, the damage rate of trees in the three survey sites in the northwest and the area above 250 meters above sea level was 100%, and the damage rate of trees with DBH above 40 cm was 100%, of which 19 ancient and famous trees were seriously damaged.
After the disaster, the scenic spot actively connected with the ancient tree restoration technical team, grasped the situation of the ancient trees in a timely manner, carried out emergency protection for the affected ancient and famous trees according to different situations, took rescue, pruning and wound healing agents for the damaged parts of the ancient trees, and set up support for the branches of the ancient trees with potential safety hazards to prevent further damage.
Next, the scenic spot will cooperate with the 'ancient tree doctor' to carry out comprehensive rejuvenation work for ancient trees, including root regeneration, soil improvement, ancient tree grafting, nutrient transport ......Various remedial measures are taken to take measures according to the tree, so that the damaged ancient trees can gradually regain their vitality and rejuvenate their new look. The relevant person in charge of the scenic spot told reporters that while the ancient trees are fully restored, the mountain forest ecosystem of Yuelu Mountain will be restored by reinforcing the mountain and replanting trees.
In the interview, the reporter learned that after the ice and snow, the high and low voltage circuits and water networks in the Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area were damaged in many places, the slideway wire rope and chute were seriously damaged, the garbage can was damaged by 90%, the corrugated guardrails, pedestrian guardrails, and landscape facilities railings were seriously damaged, and the light poles, horns, various identification signs, and monitoring points of the whole mountain were damaged to varying degrees.
In order to ensure the safety and basic functions of the scenic spot, the infrastructure, landscaping, security, information center and other departments of the scenic spot perform their duties, coordinate and integrate human, material and financial resources, and work together to carry out the work of emergency rescue and obstacle removal in an all-round way. The staff of the scenic spot worked overtime to clean up more than 100 fallen signs, deal with 87 hidden dangers of information equipment, replace 1,950 meters of corrugated guardrails, repair more than 2,000 meters of street lamp lines, and various infrastructure equipment is being repaired at an accelerated pace. Up to now, all the main trails, secondary trails, Aiwan Pavilion and other major scenic spots in the Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area have been cleaned up.
