Temporary power outage in some areas of Yangon, Myanmar Power transmission cable connection project

Myanmar's Yangon Power Company announced that due to the power transmission cable connection project, some blocks of Yangon's Dragone Port, Legu, Pongki, Myao Au Grapa and Shwe Bao Gan Industrial Zone have been temporarily without power.

It is understood that on February 29, the power connection work will be carried out at the newly expanded 66 11kV, (20) MVA Yuzana substation in Degong New Town, Eastern District, Yangon Province. As a result, the power of the 66kV No. 2 Eyawen branch line**, which is powered by the 230kV Eyawen substation, was shut down between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on February 29.

During the operation, there was a temporary power outage in some blocks of the Port Dragone township. In order not to prolong the power outage and to reduce the impact of the power outage, Yangon Power** will complete the work as soon as possible.

In addition, the Aerial Power Line Construction Division, the 66 11kV, 20MVA GIS substation on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway, will be connected to power services, and the erection of 66kV aerial power cables will be carried out. As a result, the 66kV Lauga-Legu-Rebaogan feeder line** was shut down between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on 29 February.

Yangon Electric Power Co., Ltd. issued a reminder that due to the operation, some blocks of Laigu Town, Pongji Town, Myao Oggraba Town and the Ruibaogan Industrial Zone have been temporarily without power, and the work will be completed as soon as possible in order to reduce the time of the power outage and reduce the impact of the power outage.
