On March 1, the "Huasheng 88" ship loaded with 11,794 tons of bagged PTA (purified terephthalic acid) sailed from the berth of Guangli Port of Bohai Bay Port to Zhangjiagang. The ship is the first PTA business in Guangli Port Area in 2024, marking another solid step on the road of business innovation and deep development of Guangli Port Area.
It is understood that PTA, as one of the important bulk organic raw materials, is widely used in all aspects of the national economy such as chemical fiber, light industry, electronics, and construction, and occupies an important position in the world. However, there are some shortcomings in the traditional PTA port loading operation in terms of operational efficiency and safety. To this end, the Guangli Port Area of Bohai Bay Port has taken a series of measures to ensure the smooth completion of the loading at the port. At the same time, the production department continued to optimize the operation process, and in the past, the 4-meter ton bag spreader was replaced with an 8-meter steel plate spreader under the premise of ensuring safe operation, which improved the operation efficiency. In terms of cargo protection, we have taken measures to use containers as cofferdams in PTA storage areas to isolate the surrounding bulk cargo dust pollution, and workers wear gloves and shoe covers to ensure the quality of goods.
