China has four UHVDC projects under construction in Longdong-Shandong, Ningxia-Hunan, Hami-Chongqing, and Jinshang-Hubei. In Qamdo, the Kamai converter station at an altitude of 3,720 meters is the first UHV station, and at the construction site, the builders are carrying out the construction of pile foundations and the foundations of major buildings. In Gansu, China's first "wind, solar, fire, storage integration" large-scale comprehensive energy base delivery project, the construction site of the Longdong to Shandong UHVDC project, nearly 600 workers are working on the main control building, comprehensive building and other major building structure construction and equipment foundation construction.
Yao Bin, Manager of the Owner's Project Department of Qingyang Converter Station of the National ** High Voltage Company:The Longdong-Shandong UHVDC transmission project will be completed and put into operation in June 2025, when it will be able to transmit 36 billion kilowatt hours of electricity to Shandong every year. Among them, photovoltaic and wind power and other new energy power reached more than 18 billion kilowatt hours.
According to statistics, these projects will be put into operation in 2025, when 90.67 million tons of carbon reduction will be added every year to further promote the development of clean energy and promote low-carbon energy supply.
