Eastern Union Locomotive Parts Replace the wipers or replace the rubber strips?

Mondo Cars Updated on 2024-03-05

Replacing the wipers or strips depends on the actual use of the wipers.

If the wiper skeleton is intact, but the strip is aging, then only the strip needs to be replaced. The wiper skeleton of the original car is usually sturdy and can withstand the process of changing the rubber strip multiple times. The cost of replacing the bead is also relatively low, which can save a lot of money.

If the wiper skeleton is damaged, such as deformed, broken, etc., the entire wiper needs to be replaced. Continued use of damaged wipers may affect the wiper effect or even create a safety hazard.

Here are a few criteria to determine if a wiper needs to be replaced:

The wipers are not clean, leaving water marks or stains.

The wipers make unusual noises, such as noise or screaming.

The wipers are jumping or shaking.

The wiper strip is aging, cracking, falling off and so on.

If any of the above conditions occur to your wipers, it is recommended that you replace them in time.

Steps to replace the wiper strip:

Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield.

Press and hold your finger on the fixing clip of the wiper strip.

Pull the old wiper strip off the wiper arm.

Insert the new wiper strip into the card slot on the wiper arm.

Press the retaining clip to secure the new wiper strip in place.

Steps to replace the entire wiper:

Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield.

Use a wrench to loosen the fixing bolt of the wiper arm.

Remove the old wiper from the wiper arm.

Install the new wiper to the wiper arm.

Tighten the fixing bolts.

The lifespan of a wiper is generally one to two years. It is recommended that you regularly check the condition of the wipers and replace them in time to ensure driving safety.
