For the 2024 season, the Ford Performance Car Team and race operating partner Multimatic Motorsports have teamed up once again to return to the IMSA SportsCar Championship as a factory GT3 team. The event is the most influential endurance series in North America, second only to the WEC World Endurance Championship in terms of size and rating in the global endurance racing pedigree. This past late January, the all-new Mustang GT3 made its season debut at IMSA's first race, the legendary Rolex Daytona 24 Hours. In 1965-66, Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby won the Daytona Endurance Race in a Ford GT40 for two consecutive years.

It is worth mentioning that Joey Hand and Dirk Müller, who helped Ford win the 2016 Le Mans championship, are among the drivers who have represented Ford in IMSA this season.
