The official website of the Australian Department of Immigration was updated and released on March 5, and the number of nominations for sponsored skilled migrants from 190 491 states in each state from July 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024 is as follows:
NSW NSW:190 quotas have been used, 1654; 1,073 of the 491 quotas have been used;
Victoria VIC:2275 of the 190 quota has been used; 454 of the 491 quotas have been used;
WA WA:190 quotas have been used 1448; 772 of the 491 quotas have been used;
SA:839 of the 190 quota has been used; 749 of the 491 quotas have been used;
Queensland QLD:680 of the 190 quota has been used; 366 of the 491 quotas have been used;
Canberra act:478 of the 190 quotas have been used; 417 of the 491 quotas have been used;
Tasmanian TAS:190 quotas have been used 469; A total of 341 of the 491 quota has been used.
Northern Territory NT:241 of the 190 quotas have been used; 297 of the 491 quotas have been used;
The last time the USCIS updated the quota usage was on January 31, 2024, although there was an interval of a full month, but compared with the total quota number of skilled immigrants in each state of the fiscal year, it can be seen that there are still some differences in the quota changes in each state.
NSW issued 622 190 and 95 491 State Sponsorship Nominations in February, leaving more than 30% of the overall 190 491 quota, and one or two more rounds of pre-invitations are expected to continue to be issued this financial year.
Victoria issued 299 190 and 75 491 state sponsorship nominations in a single month, although the state** had earlier indicated that it expected to close applications in early 2024, and it seems that there are still 1-2 rounds of pre-invitation opportunities.
Canberra currently has about 20% left in 190 and about 30% left in 491, *The official website previously announced that the next round of matrix requirements will be before the beginning of March, the specific time is unknown, but at least one more round will be issued.
Queensland issued 54 190 and 47 491 state sponsorship formal nominations in February, which is also the state with the most 491 remaining, although the state ** opened the 491 priority lane during this period, but the effect is not obvious, and applicants who meet the requirements can rush down Queensland 491.
At present, many states have focused on the processing of materials that have been pre-invited. South Australia and Tasmania have limited remaining quotas, with a small number of invitations issued sporadically, while Western Australia and the Northern Territory have successively closed the state sponsorship application channel for skilled migrants, and can only wait for the quota in the new financial year.
