All boxes, bags, and envelopes that Amazon uses for fulfillment in Europe are now available. The company also said that more and more products are being sent to customers without any additional packaging.

Amazon is proud to announce the milestone of 100% packaging, stating: "We are thrilled that our customers receive packages in flexible paper bags, cardboard envelopes, and corrugated cardboard boxes that are easy to pack in homes across Europe.

This applies both to orders placed on European Amazon** where the company itself is the seller, and to purchases from third-party sellers (Fulfillment by Amazon or Fulfillment by Amazon) where Amazon processes order processing.

Amazon also mentioned that the number of products without any additional packaging in Europe has increased by more than 50% as a result of agreements with **merchants. The packaging is sturdy enough to reach the customer, and Amazon only adds an address label after placing the order.

In the Netherlands, Amazon recently launched a program to facilitate carn-free shipping called "product packaging shipping." All products have been drop tested to ensure they reach customers safely in their original product packaging. During the ordering process, the customer is informed that the item will be delivered without additional packaging, but they can request it if needed, for example, if it is a gift.

More and more orders are being sent without any additional packaging.

In its press release, Amazon highlighted that these initiatives help reduce the use of plastic: "We estimate that since 2019, our European distribution network has avoided the use of more than 1 billion single-use plastic courier bags.

Pat Lindner, vice president of mechatronics and sustainable packaging at Amazon, said: "This is part of our long-term work to be a sustainability leader. We will continue to invest in innovative technologies, machine Xi and more sustainable materials to ensure that packaging – whether used by us or other companies – is good for our customers, communities and the planet.

Amazon is committed to being a leader in sustainability.

Amazon is piloting innovative packaging solutions across Europe, including padded envelopes made only of paper, reusable courier bags, and incentives to encourage selling partners to reduce packaging.
