On December 14, 2023, Food Africa, Egypt, and Pacprocess Mea, a concurrent processing and packaging exhibition, were held in Cairo. The Egypt International Exhibition Center came to an end with a significant increase in the number of visitors and a high percentage of international exhibitors. In this way, the exhibition established itself as the leading platform for the food and packaging industry in Africa and the Middle East.

This year more professional visitors than ever before traveled to Egypt for Food Africa and PacProcess MEA. With more than 900 exhibitors, 27,500 visitors and more than 500 invited buyers, the fair offers a comprehensive marketplace for players in the food and packaging industry. Both trade fairs are co-organised by IFP EGYPT and Messe Düsseldorf.

There are nine national pavilions at the exhibition, with Kuwait as the guest of honour partner. Exhibitors come from 32 countries, including Greece, Germany, India, Pakistan, Italy, Spain, Poland, Turkey, China, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.

Close collaboration with the Egyptian Food Export Council, Agricultural Products Export Council, Chamber of Food Industry, Ministry of Industry, Packaging Export Council, and others shows that Food Africa co-organising with PacProcess MEA can boost the growth of the food and packaging industry in the region. The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking dignitaries including Egypt's Minister of Trade and Interior, Elsayed Ali El-Moselhi, Minister of Industry, Ahmed Samir, Minister of Transport, Kamel Alwazir, and other high-ranking dignitaries, which also highlighted the importance of the exhibition.

Food Africa, the Egyptian food exhibition, is held for the eighth time this year, and as an important event for the African food industry, it attracts producers, businessmen and investors from all over the world. This move has once again given impetus to the development of the African food industry in the global market and to promote the sustainability of agriculture and food processing.

Concurrent sessions as part of the exhibition discussed core industry topics such as the impact of logistics on food transport in Africa, food and agriculture in Egypt, food safety, agricultural exports and the future of fresh produce. In addition, the Food Organization for Africa, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the Arab Resources Commission also organized a seminar on the modernization of SMEs, where renowned speakers from different fields, including **delegates, business leaders, and international organizations, shared their views to promote the development and growth of the African food industry.

This is the fourth time that PacProcess MEA has been held in Egypt. Exhibitors brought machines and equipment to the show site, providing a considerable packaging process for potential buyers. At the end of the three-day show, most of the exhibitors were satisfied and they plan to attend again in 2024.

Another highlight is the newly designed pacprocess MEA conference. Here, panel discussions provided valuable insights on topics such as industry sustainability, efficient exports, brand marketing, circular economy, and more.

The next edition of Food Africa and PacProcess MEA will be held concurrently from 3-5 December 2024.
