Qiao Gexia is a researcher and director of the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, doctoral supervisor, director of the National Animal Specimen Resource Bank, and winner of the National Outstanding Youth Award. He has presided over more than 10 key projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Natural Science Commission, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other ministries and commissions. He is mainly engaged in research in the fields of aphid systematics, molecular evolution, biogeography, the relationship between aphids and plants and symbiotic bacteria, and aphid monitoring and control.

Liu Xinjian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, joined the work in 1987 and joined the Communist Party of China in 1990. He has been engaged in the transformation and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements for a long time, and has served as the director of the General Division, the director of the Industrial Planning Department, the assistant to the director, the deputy director, the deputy secretary, and the secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Institute of Physical and Chemical Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the deputy head of the preparatory group of the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He is currently the deputy director of the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and served as the assistant director of the Institute of Zoology and the deputy director of the journals and literature department of the society. His research interests include ornithology, evolutionary genetics of extreme environments. He has presided over a number of domestic and foreign scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Commission of China, the National Science Distinguished Young Scientist and Key Projects, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Key Deployment Project, the Royal Society Project, etc. Member of the editorial board of Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B, Heredity, Evolutionary Applications, and Integrative Zoology.
