Manchester United weighed in on the January loan signing of Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
Manchester United could consider signing unpopular Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan in January.
Manchester City are believed to be willing to allow the 28-year-old to leave Etihad when the transfer window opens next month.
The former Leeds United star has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs, including the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle.
Now, Manchester United could consider making a shocking offer to him to move from the Blues to the Reds.
Phillips has played just 89 minutes in the Premier League this season, making just <> substitute appearances.
Pep Guardiola admitted this week that the midfielder was not in line with his plans.
I don't know what's going to happen [in January]," Guardiola said. "I'm so sorry for the decision I made for him. I've said this many times.
He doesn't deserve what happened to him, I'm sorry.
The only thing I can say about him is that I ask for a good personality and character and he is a perfect example. After that, I had to give him something, but I didn't do that.
It's just because I'm imagining things, imagining teams and things – it's hard for me to see him.
I'm not very happy with myself, I feel sorry for him. I wouldn't say anything to him because it's a business and I have to be a professional.
But if a person behaves badly, I don't care. But the way he gets along with his teammates and everybody, I care a lot. So that's why hopefully it will turn things around.
I've said it many times and if in January he stays, I'm very happy because he's trained so well and he's a lovely guy and character.
