Harvest Day developer Starbreeze is working on a new game based on the classic role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. The game, codenamed Project Baxter, is scheduled to be released on multiple platforms in 2026. It was Starbreeze's first game developed using Unreal Engine 5.
At the moment, there is very little specific information about Project Baxter, but Starbreeze says the game will incorporate the cooperative multiplayer elements that they specialize in, as well as a game-as-a-service model, community interaction, and immersive experiences. Starbreeze will also serve as the game's global publisher.
In today's press release, Starbreeze CEO Tobias Sjogren said, "We've always wanted to be able to develop a Dungeons & Dragons game, which is one of our favorite IPs, so we're very excited to have this agreement with Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro. ”
Dungeons & Dragons has had an impressive year of achievement," said Eugene Evans, Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro's senior vice president of digital strategy and licensing. "Our game brands, including Dungeons & Dragons, have attracted many great partners as we work to expand our digital gaming portfolio through licensing and development.
We are thrilled to be working with Starbreeze, they are a perfect embodiment of our strategy." Considering their excellence in the gaming sector and their love for Dungeons & Dragons, we are confident that they will bring a satisfying game to players around the world. ”
In addition to Project Baxter, Starbreeze continues to work on Harvest Day 3 and has launched the latest free update for Harvest Day 2. This update adds two classic heist missions from the previous game: Cook Off and Turbid Station. Players can experience the excitement and fun of the original heist in these missions, while also feeling some new improvements and changes.
