Whenever the "Hongqi" car is mentioned, the classic domestic high-end car shape will appear in everyone's mind for the first time, and in the hearts of many older generations of Chinese people, the "Hongqi" brand car has always been the existence of the ceiling of domestic automobiles. At least for a long time, the status of the "red flag" in such a deep connection with the people cannot be surpassed.
After the successful trial production of the "Dongfeng" brand CA71 car in 1958, the Chinese fulfilled a car dream. However, CA71 is a small-sized car, and it is obviously not grand and classy enough as a leader car and ceremonial car.
Based on strong national sentiment and patriotic enthusiasm, FAW people once again put forward the plan to manufacture high-end cars in just one and a half months, hoping to break the historical record that Chinese cannot build high-end cars. After Dongfeng produced 30 prototypes, the Dongfeng car production plan was cancelled, and FAW invested all its efforts to produce high-end cars. Based on Chrysler's Imperial C69 luxury sedan, the first prototype of the CA72 was built in 33 days. After five subsequent improvements, it was finally finalized in April 1959, and the official number was confirmed to be CA72, and it also participated in the 10th anniversary ceremony of the founding of the People's Republic of China, laying an important foundation for the "Red Flag" to become the "national car" in the future.
The model I am playing with today is the latest product launched by Tuoyi, the silver version of the "Hongqi" brand CA72, product number Y38-04.
In the first half of this year, TOISE has launched the most familiar black version of CA72 (number Y38-01). For fans who are accustomed to seeing the black "coat" red flag, many people are still skeptical, has this all-silver red flag really appeared?
The answer is yes, according to some historical information found on the Internet, in the early stage of production, CA72 had red, blue, green, white, silver gray and other body colors, and later changed to black according to the requirements!
At the beginning of this year, when I visited the Shanghai Automobile Museum, I also saw the green version of the CA72, and it is said that TOLIA will also launch a green version of the CA72 in the future.
Let's continue to take a look at the model, the new product is still a common carton + built-in blister box fixed body.
The first feeling of opening the box is that it is very solid, full of weight, the chassis and body of the car are made of alloy, and it is heavy in the hand. The wheels push very smoothly. I don't have the slightest feeling of worrying that I will win the lottery (friends who often collect tiny microshadows can probably understand what I mean).
The fan-shaped grille and front bumper at the front of the car are made of integrated carved parts, and the headlights use transparent parts directly glued to the light bowl, making the car appear more three-dimensional and more spiritual. The cornering lights are presented in pad printing. The iconic "Red Flag" logo in the middle of the front bonnet is printed with metal parts.
The rear of the car is relatively rounded, with the rear bumper and the palace lamp tail lights using one piece, while the palace lamp tail lights are presented by pad printing.
On the front side, you can see the front flagpole made of independent metal parts, and you can see that the CA72 is designed for front and rear doors, but the doors of the model cannot be opened. In order to fix the flagpole, a closer look at the front bar section reveals that there are two small glue watermarks, but this is to protect these fragile small parts, understand.
In terms of interior, this car is also very interesting, such as the hollowed-out steering wheel, clear round instrument cluster.
Not only are the interior door panels color-separated, but the door handles are also protruding and painted, and the seats are also made with classic vertical stripes that are typical of cars of that era.
On the fenders, the five red flag logos representing "industry, agriculture, business, learning, and soldiers" are restored by pad printing, and the wheels are made of soft rubber tires, and the wheels are made of chrome-plated plastic.
At the rear, you can see the palace-style taillights, as well as the protruding V-shaped "Hongqi" badge and two separate exhaust pipes under the rear bumper.
As the first high-end sedan with an official number in China, Hongqi CA72 is a milestone for automakers and even China. The silver launched this time is a little less serious, and at the same time adds a point of nobility, fashion, and more importantly, it is real, and it is a good opportunity for me to learn Xi history for an archaeological party. In terms of workmanship, it is completely worthy of the selling price of the early 100s.
