I am retired, with a pension of more than 10,000 a month. I thought I could live the retirement life I loved, but the reality was completely different from what I imagined, and I spent most of my time at home except for walking and doing some physical exercise, feeling like I had nothing to do all day.
I grew up in the countryside and moved to the city after graduating from high school in '80, and it has been more than 40 years. As my retirement approaches, I feel more and more strongly about rural life, especially those beautiful and picturesque places.
I even wanted to settle down in the countryside as soon as possible. In order to find a comfortable and convenient place to investigate, but in the end, the plan could not be realized due to various reasons.
In desperation, three years ago I decided to renovate the two rural bungalows left behind by my father. On the one hand, because of the small bungalows built around it, my small bungalow was cramped, low and damp, and when it rained, it leaked so badly that it was almost uninhabitable. On the other hand, because the brothers and sisters are in the nearby countryside, it is not convenient to go back to their hometown to worship their ancestors.
So, I applied for the renovation of the dilapidated house on the original site, and it was approved. It was supposed to be a good thing, and I didn't have to put much effort into it myself, but problems kept coming.
My neighbors are very small-minded. Originally, I rarely went home, and I rarely had the opportunity to meet them, so I didn't have any grudges at all. Moreover, I personally visited them beforehand to give them a big gift, but they didn't appreciate it. On the day of the start of construction, they even brought a group of people to the site to stop the construction.
So, I revised the design drawings and reduced the floor area, but to no avail. Then they obstructed the construction by smashing the wall and other means. After several interventions by local authorities, the construction was reluctantly completed.
However, because of this experience, I have completely lost interest in retiring and enjoying my old age, and I still have no living facilities installed.
