Ren'ai Jiao and Scarborough Shoal have been the focus of disputes between China and the Philippines. While China has always insisted on its sovereignty over the islands, the Philippines has continued to engage in provocative acts in an attempt to occupy them. Recently, the Philippine side built three rudimentary houses on Second Thomas Shoal, one of which also has antennas, most likely as a temporary command and control center for external communications.
The construction of these modest houses is one of the evils of the Philippine side and a provocation to the sovereignty of our country. Although China has taken strong measures to stop the Philippines' actions, the Philippines has been trying its best to transport construction materials to the island, in an attempt to turn the illegal "beaching" of Ren'ai Jiao into an "artificial island". China has always emphasized safeguarding its sovereignty and dignity, but at the same time, it has also attached great importance to humanitarian concern.
In order to ensure the basic livelihood of the people on the island, China has made reasonable temporary special arrangements for Philippine ships. However, the evil behavior of the Philippine side cannot be tolerated, and the Chinese coast guard is still making every effort to counter the Philippine provocation and safeguard the territorial integrity of the motherland. As can be seen from these humble houses built by the Filipino side, their purpose is very clear. It is likely that the houses were used for military activities and espionage.
The Philippine side has released the interior of the houses, and it is clear that they are temporary command and control centers used for external communications and military command. China has always maintained a high degree of vigilance against such provocative actions by the Philippines and has taken various measures to safeguard its sovereignty in the South China Sea. However, we also need to recognize that it is also very important to ensure people's lives and security.
While safeguarding sovereignty, the China Coast Guard and relevant parties need to pay more attention to humanitarian issues and provide basic living needs for the people on Ren'ai Jiao. Despite the provocative actions of the Philippine side, China will firmly defend its sovereignty and dignity. We will take strong measures to counter any attempt to infringe on China's territory and safeguard the territorial integrity of the motherland.
At the same time, we will continue to pay attention to humanitarian issues and provide necessary assistance to the personnel on Second Thomas Shoal. The Philippines is arrogant in building small houses in the South China Sea, but in fact it shows its lack of strength. The existence of these improvised structures exposes the reality that the Philippines is unable to use building materials such as reinforced concrete, let alone reinforce the hull. With such a fragile hull, no amount of houses will help.
The Philippine side's attempt to fortify itself is doomed to failure and cannot compete with the forces of nature. And these small houses can only alleviate the homesickness of the people on board, as well as communicate with other ships. More importantly, these improvised buildings highlight the Philippines' provocative actions in the South China Sea and create tensions, behind which the "backstage" is undoubtedly Western power. By forcing China to intervene, they interrupt China's development momentum and pursue their own interests.
However, we must stick to our principles, maintain the determination of a great power, resist with force, and convince others with virtue. We cannot cooperate with the hype of foreign countries, raise the heat of the situation in the South China Sea, and prevent the conspiracy of foreign forces from succeeding. Only in this way can we demonstrate the true wisdom of a great power, resolutely defend national sovereignty and dignity, and not give others any opportunity to take advantage of it.
