In 2013, the Belt and Road Initiative was officially proposed, and I began to participate in Belt and Road projects. Chang Peng, general manager of Huashan International Mongolia Company, recalled. In the past ten years of participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, Chang Peng has gradually grown from a grassroots technician to an experienced project leader.
I have worked on projects in Malaysia, Russia, Tajikistan, Bekstan in Uzbekistan, and Turkey. There are even more bids, involving more than a dozen countries, including Pakistan, Venezuela, Cameroon, Afghanistan and so on. Chang Peng counted his footprints all over the world in the past ten years. "These projects are mainly related to the energy industry, including power transmission and transformation projects, housing construction projects, and some petroleum and petrochemical projects. ”
In the past ten years, Chang Peng has traveled to many countries and regions to explore new markets. "First of all, we need to be familiar with the local language in order to better communicate with local talents and resources. The second is to adapt to the local area, like many Chinese enterprises in the process of doing the localization and localization of the construction, from the system, personnel and other aspects to adapt to the local construction environment. ”
In 2022, Chang Peng was appointed by the company to come to Mongolia to be responsible for the bidding of the "Mongolian ** Pipeline Project". As Mongolia's first ** pipeline, Mongolia attaches great importance to this project. But even for a veteran like Chang Peng, who has worked overseas, Mongolia is an unfamiliar market. This made Chang Peng cheer up the spirit.
At that time, it was the middle of the epidemic, and there were very few people who could come. My colleagues and I, as well as the team from North International, spent about two weeks conducting a comprehensive survey of the construction conditions of the project, starting from Ulaanbaatar to Saiyin Shanda, and then driving from Saiyin Shanda to the extreme edge of Eastern Province, all the way to Choibalsan, walking 1050 kilometers. Chang Peng recalled.

Although they have been psychologically prepared to open up unfamiliar markets, the harsh natural conditions of Mongolia have brought many difficulties to Chang Peng and others. "I thought it was good at the time, I thought how bad could this condition be?It turned out to be nothing. There is no hot water for drinking, and there is no hot water for eating. Instant noodles are the main meal, and they are eaten in the sand with the wind blowing in the wild. ”
Through on-site surveys, Chang Peng and his colleagues learned in detail about the conditions of the pipeline construction site. "The route of the pipeline, the ** collected by the locals, the social support, whether there is a local network, where the water is taken, how people pass, where to pass, what is the approximate price......We all know very well and get first-hand information. The final survey report was more than 70 pages long. Chang Peng said confidently. "We looked at it in great detail. We brought GPS from the country. In order to understand how the soil is, we also specially found an excavator to test dig. ”
With this detailed research report and full understanding of the site situation, Shaanxi Construction Holding Group successfully won the bid and was responsible for the project as the construction contractor of North International, the general contractor of the Mongolian ** pipeline project.
Fourth, the fifth bid section of a total of 230 kilometers of pipeline construction tasks. These research works also laid a solid foundation for the smooth construction of the project. So far, the main body of the 230-kilometer pipeline has been welded, and the efficiency of Chinese enterprises has also been recognized by local people.

When I first started working, a master told me a sentence: 'On-site guarantee market'. Our company not only has to develop new markets all the time, but also to do a good job of each project on the spot, have a good reputation, so that a project can bring more projects and bring a larger market. Chang Peng said.
In the past ten years of overseas work, Chang Peng has personally experienced the changes brought about by the Belt and Road Initiative in various countries, and has also gained a deeper understanding of the significance of the Belt and Road Initiative. "In the past ten years, the countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative have grown from less to more, the cooperation has changed from relatively extensive to very deep, and the projects have become more and more precise, and have promoted the economic development of many countries and regions, and also brought benefits to many local people. Chang Peng said. "I have met a lot of foreign friends in the process of doing projects abroad, and I can feel that they are more and more recognized by China. ”
Over the past decade, the Belt and Road Initiative has moved from a Chinese initiative to an international practice, from concept to action, from vision to reality, and from the "big hand" of planning the layout to the "fine brushwork" of intensive cultivation. Chang Peng, who has experienced and witnessed this process, has also put forward new requirements for himself. He and his colleagues will continue to work hard and continue to strive for the next decade after decade.

Xi'an is the starting point of the Silk Road, and Shaanxi Construction is located in Xi'an, so our Shaanxi Construction has an inherent advantage in participating in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, and it is also a kind of inheritance. Chang Peng said. "We see Mongolia as a market with a lot of room to grow. We hope to develop more projects in Mongolia and work with Mongolia to better build the Belt and Road Initiative."
