Recently, at the "2023 Cross-Strait Urban Agriculture Innovation and Development Conference and Urban Modern Agriculture Development Seminar" with the theme of "giving full play to the advantages of the Bay Area, condensing the wisdom of the two sides of the strait, and jointly promoting integrated development", the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information of the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences released the "Research on the Development of Urban Modern Agriculture in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (2022)" for the first time.

According to reports, the "Research on the Development of Urban Modern Agriculture in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (2022)" lasted one and a half years, and a team of experts composed of nearly 30 researchers, professors, doctors, etc. went deep into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to carry out field research, focusing on urban modern agriculture, focusing on industrial development, cultivated land changes, planting structure, cold chain logistics, digital agriculture, food consumption, exports, cultural and tourism integration, farmers' income increase, local practice, etc. Endogenous driving force and strategic measures, in order to provide reference for the high-quality development of urban modern agriculture in the Greater Bay Area.

The Research on the Development of Urban Modern Agriculture in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (2022) is divided into four parts: "General Report", "Industrial Development", "Special Research" and "Practical Investigation". Among them, the "General Report" systematically summarizes the main problems and difficulties faced by the development foundation, achievements and difficulties of urban modern agriculture in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, constructs an index system to measure the development level of urban modern agriculture in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, analyzes its regional differences and driving factors, and studies and puts forward the ideas, goals, key tasks and development measures for the development of urban modern agriculture in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The "Industrial Development Chapter" focuses on the advantageous industries such as grain, vegetables, aquatic products, flowers, leisure agriculture and rural tourism in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, analyzes the high-quality development of the industry, and puts forward targeted countermeasures and suggestions.

The special research chapter analyzes the core issues such as cultivated land changes, planting structure, cold chain logistics, food consumption, exports, cultural and tourism integration, and farmers' income increase in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and explores the path of high-quality development of urban modern agriculture in the Greater Bay Area.

The "Practical Investigation Chapter" focuses on the development of urban agriculture in Foshan, the development of biological agriculture in Guangzhou, the growth of rural household income, and the development of prefabricated vegetable industry in Huizhou.

According to reports, the meeting was supported by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office of the China Association for Science and Technology, sponsored by the Chinese Agricultural Society, the China Cross-Strait Exchange Association, and co-organized by the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Information of the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Guangdong Agricultural Society, the Fujian Agricultural Society, the Key Laboratory of Urban Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Guangzhou National Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Center, and the Guangzhou Association for Science and Technology.

The conference was carried out in the form of 2 days of field visits + 1 day of conference reports, and more than 100 experts, scientific and technological personnel, and industrial elites from agricultural research institutes, colleges and universities, social organizations, and agricultural enterprises on both sides of the Taiwan Strait participated.
