Ukraine declares the destruction of railway facilities in the Russian Far East

On November 30, Ukraine carried out an act of sabotage, targeting the Republic of Buryatia in the Russian Far East, according to anonymous sources in the Ukrainian security services, quoted by Infotiata.

It is reported that the Security Service of Ukraine in one column contains 41 tank trucks and 3 tankers.

Four bombs were placed on the Russian freight train of aviation kerosene vehicles. The bomb was detonated when the train entered the North Muya tunnel of the Baikal-Amur railway, causing a massive ** and paralyzing the railway. Ukraine** claims that the sabotage is aimed at cutting off the transportation lines of civilian and military supplies between Russia and China, as the Baikal-Amur railway is a key part of the railway network connecting the two countries.

At the moment, the authenticity of this incident has not been confirmed. There has been no official response from Ukrainian officials to this. RIA Novosti reported that a train caught fire in the North Muya Tunnel, but the fire was quickly extinguished, there were no people**, and the freight only had to be detoured, which had little impact. This seems to indicate that this was only a car accident and not a serious incident as described in Ukraine. Nevertheless, it seems far-fetched that Ukraine ** associates this incident with "China". Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, China has repeatedly called for a ceasefire between the two sides to restore peace, and has made baseless accusations of providing ** to Russia.

On the other hand, the place of the incident is about 5,000 kilometers from Ukraine, in the Far East, far from the European part of Russia, which may indicate that Ukraine has the ability to penetrate the Russian Far East or unite with saboteurs in Russia, which poses a greater threat to Russia.

The Main Directorate of Defense Intelligence of Ukraine previously announced that it had cooperated with local resistance groups in Russia to launch sabotage operations against Russian railway infrastructure, including the burning of two railway signal relay cabinets in Moscow Oblast, causing a temporary paralysis of the railway. This trend has sparked demands from the Russian public to take measures to prevent similar incidents.

However, neither the destruction of railways nor roads can hide the unfavorable situation on the front line of the Ukrainian army. On November 30, Zelensky announced that Kyiv would build fortifications on the front line from Donbas to western Ukraine, instead of what was previously promised. Although he still strongly stated that Ukraine will not stop fighting unless Russia withdraws its troops, in the case of a significant reduction in European and American military aid, the strongest position in Ukraine may only be Zelensky's position.
